Steem Reward Pool Is Increasing Amidst Low Activity

The image above was taken a few minutes ago on steem.supply and it shows that the reward pool is over 713,000 STEEM. Usually, the rewards pool sits somewhere just under 700,000 STEEM, so we're seeing an increase of almost 2%.

In US, at the current price, this would be approximately $44,850.

This may be due to a few factors (or a combination of all):

  • less activity following a slightly bearish / stagnant STEEM price
  • overall fatigue following two very full months in the crypto world
  • consolidation of long-term adopters of the platform (as opposed to opportunistic accounts, which may stop using the platform, given insignificant ROI)
  • less claims
  • none of the above, just random stuff

Whatever the reasons, I thought you may want to end this weekend with this thought:

"What if, at my job, my boss would tell me there's an extra $45,000 to be made next week."

If your boss will come tomorrow to you and tell you that, what would you do?

Wanna know when you're getting paid?

I know the feeling. That's why I created steem.supply, an easy to use and accurate tool for calculating your Steemit rewards

It's free to use, but if you think this is a useful addition, I'd appreciate your witness vote.

Thank you!

With 45K it usd right? I probally use 80% to buy steem using diff exchanges of course. The other 20% to buy obits, I want to have some say in openledger.

It can be tricky to squeeze the fifth factor (none of the above) into (or combination of all)
he he ;)

nonetheless, worth a try, isn't it? :)

is it hard to achieve such a result?
and have you ever been saturated when you still have not succeeded?

and have you ever been saturated when you still have not succeeded?

many, many times. As an ultra-runner, you get used to this feeling.

thank you, hopefully I can get used to it and I will try to be as successful as you, thanks for your support

I would go to look for what apartment or house can I buy with that money :))

good call :)

  1. Flag wars between High Rewards receivers basically nullifying any rewards taken by the players.

might be.

Also, that too, shall pass...

I'd be suspicious and skeptical. An extra $45000 ... for whom ? And where would that money come from ? Is it money from one pocket going into another ? Or more money for the "#rewardpoolrapers" ?
I begin to think for instance that "contests" are scams - I see every old fox organizing contests and I don't know exactly how it works but I'm sure it's profitable for the organizer ...

I wish!

I've run two rounds of my Steemit Ultra Marathon game and lost a bunch of money on each one.
I'm doing it because it's fun. Yes I'd like to make money on it eventually, but for now I'm paying for the privilege of running the game.

Ok, interesting contribution, thank you. Probably you haven't discovered how to do it profitably yet ? Maybe Jerry Banfield could teach you how to organize a profitable contest ? :-D)))

hehe maybe. Part of the problem is I'm offering a reasonable purse (30SBD) but only getting a few players, none of which are whales or dolphins, so the amount the posts earn is minimal.

That's ok for now. I'm hoping if i get more players involved that I'll get more votes and then the post won't be costing me money.

Or I may need to lower the prize money available.

I'd be suspicious and skeptical.

I tend to think that people who will get that money aren't suspicious, nor skeptical. But I might be wrong... :)

Of course they aren't! They have rigged the game already and all they need to do is to open their wallets and the extra money will flow into their wallets effortlessly :-)

@dragosroua, the "WORKAHOLIC-WITNESS", I will do the needful - nitty-gritty. 😂 😂 😂

Hi @dragosroua, is the steem.supply source code available somewhere? I'd be interested on how to calculate the reward pool value?

It's a blockchain prop, you can get it via an API call, have a look at http://developers.steem.io.

found it, thanks!

A news about an increase is one news which always tickles our ears as Steemians. 2% is huge. Truly in every croud there is a silver lining. I could never have thought that the stagnation in the price of STEEM and SBD could spell good on the reward pool. Quite impressive.

About the last question. I would probably tell my boyfriend that for the whole of next, I'm gonna be spending the nights in the office. I'm serious. Why would I come home?
