Best of Steemit Wednesday: The Best Eight Ever
Best of Steemit Every Day
Every day, I bring you eight posts you should think hard about upvoting and supporting. These are quality posts, well written and good examples of the best the community has to offer. Please consider checking them out, and if you agree, love them up.
How is it possible that the community continues to bring in great voices all the time? But it does, day after day. When I started this series a month ago I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to keep it up, that I’d run out of great stuff and have to lower my standards. Fortunately, I was wrong. I have no standards, so that wasn’t a problem, and Steemit continues to attract people of amazing ability and fascinating background. THREE of the below are intro posts! I’ll never run out. Lucky you!
Today's Best
Writing (Fiction): A Fair For Psychopomps by @horrorguyian. Hat tip to @johnjgeddes for finding this guy, someone he calls “A fledgling Stephen King.” This is a story that will make you think about that, too.
Writing (Nonfiction): Hello Steemit Community, My Name Is Logan Walden, Fantastical Science Fiction Artist by @loganwaldenart. If you’re going to make a splash in a community, I recommend doing it like this. TONS of art, photographs, and we really get to know @loganwaldenart. Worth the read, and the look.
Writing (Craft): Searching For That Magic Feeling And the Power of Stories by @anarchospace. Not about craft, per se, but about the feeling we all get when searching for a story, for the way to tell our story in a way that will resonate, lift, empower. I don’t reach it often, but when I do, it’s better than any drug. @anarchospace has this exactly right.
Steemit community: STEEM: Where Does The Money Come From? by @waiyanphyo. I’ve not been here forever, but I’ve been around long enough to know that everyone wants an explanation to where the money comes from. Here you go. Simple, accurate, easy-to-understand explanation of the system. The best one I've ever seen, and that's no hyperbole.
Introduceyourself: I’m the Third Child of Sethlinson and I Have Yet To Be Born by @mychild03. It’s not the best intro post I’ve ever seen, but seriously, this is a clever idea. Not to mention ( @rhondak alert), this title makes a great contest prompt, doesn’t it?
My Feed: When A Polish Town Bought Tom Hanks A Fiat 126 by @mindhunter. I just love stories like this. Quick read, fun video.
Photography: Visiting Caernarfon Wales, UK: This Time With The Sunshine by @webdeals. Great photography of my ancestral home. Sort of. My last name is Welsh, and my people are from there, though I’ve never been. This makes me want to go. Real bad.
Special Prize: All About You by @arbitrarykitten. A glorious idea somewhat modeled on those very annoying Facebook listy-posts, but this one works really well, because Steemit is awesome and Steemians are awesomer. If you’re new, and you want to know whom to follow, this post (and the excellent comments) are the place to start.
As always, suggestions for posts to honor are gratefully accepted.
Rules of the Best Of:
I don't like grammar and spelling errors. I make them, but I hate them. Unless the post is supremely brilliant, even a couple of these--especially in the title--will mean it doesn't make this list. NOTE: if you're writing in your second language, significant slack will be given here. When I write in my second language, I'm lucky if I can be understood at all.
Minnows--I am a minnow, and I'm all in on support for the newbies. Doesn't mean I won't curate a whale post, but it's unlikely. If your rating is over 70, you don't need my help (for whatever it's worth).
I don't do porn, however artful.
Original content only.
I take requests. Gratefully. But not for your own work. Push someone else into the spotlight.
Cristof endorses the Minnow Support Project, and all the hungry fish that school there.
Nice Post- Thanks for Share!

Thanks for the shout out, @cristof and @johnjgeddes! I'm really flattered by the comparison. Hopefully I can live up to it.
BTW, cristof, I really like this girl's intro post:
