Is Steemit a Scam?

in #steemit8 years ago

Is steemit a scam? I have written 4 articles that have been worth 00.1 or less. I feel that I produce quality content and am troubled by the fact that not many people seem to be reading my posts.

Should I continue with this platform or is it a waste of time?

I would appreciate your opinion, Thanks.

Ok, a scam? I belive it is not. I do get your point about your content not being appreciated as you would like, but I would wait till things settle down. I joined steemit on the 5th but since then, I have witnessed the wild rush of new singups, a majority of whom seem to believe this is a gold mine! This has created spam, shitty posts as well as quality content (like yours) but the sheer volume of it all has me overwhelmed, and I suspect, others as well. As for me, I would give it time till the dust settles and suggest that you keep the good stuff for later, check out trends and generally read about this complex platform till then.

I think right now might be the prime time for grabbing followers though which will be essential in the future. As more users join and start posting to Steemit, posts are just going to get further drowned out upping the bar for everyone.

And how can I do that from your perspective?

Keep posting and find your niche now before it gets that much harder =)

The wording was basically to get attention. I'm kind of just still trying to figure out how this platform works.

What can we do about bots spamming up the comment section with "nice", and "good".

Upvoted you

Well, it's not a get rich quick scheme if that's what you're looking for.
The content may be good in your eyes but if other people don't like it then that's for them to decide.
If you don't enjoy the process and expect immediate results then you should probably quit.
Not everybody is entitled to receive upvotes and you might just need to put some more time in and see what's working for you. I'm sure you will have some posts with a lot of upvotes if you stick to it.
Patience is a virtue.
But if you don't enjoy it and only hope for some fast money than I would advise you to stop it.
You shouldn't do stuff you don't like.
But complaining won't help.
So no Steemit is not a scam, why would it be?
After July 4th the competition has simply increased and it is harder to get recognized if you don't already have a good reputation.
Hope you have a good day. :)

Thanks for your insight :)

And no I'm not just here for the money, mostly trying to improve my article skills....but patience IS a virtue. Have a good day (night)

Hey hang in there. I read a bit of your articles they just didn't connect with me on a personal level. I think there might be some good stuff in there. I'm not a high earner, but the ones that seem to score are things people relate to in their own lives. It doesn't help to complain when people don't share your appreciation for particular topics. I'm just trying to help please don't get upset.

I'm not really complaining, although it might seem like it. But I appreciate your comment more than you know :) Thank you.

@william-noe
What kind of things do you connect with? - curious.

Hard to say really. Usually when people open up and talk about how they have overcome adversity of some type.

Write for you, not for others. Then whatever happens happens.

Dude, you got $200 on your first post, I only got $4! You can't expect everything to be peaches and cream though. Keep posting and you will find a niche that the community responds to, then profit $.$

HAd a look at your blog posts. It may be that your content is VERY targeted. Meaning only certain people would be interested in the topics you write about. Give it time.

Okay. So try to generalize content?
...I guess it's not always easy to see things from another perspective. Thanks for your input.

Keep your head up.
