Ever wondered where things come from? Like the word "Bread" for example: The first person ever to mention must have been very popular since the word he came up with just stuck around. Or the word for "Table". What was that person thinking and how come it got addapted in any way? Same goes for milk. Don't you ever wonder what the person finding out about milk was really up to while he discovered milk?

The funny thing about that is that our language actually grows daily. New words are invented and added to every language and our vocabulaire grows accordingly as new discoveries are made.

Besides our vocabulaire we have another strange thing going on. Our very own surnames. Most of them are very self explanitory really and leave little to our imagination. Jackson really means someone in your family line once was Jack's Son and so on. Some curious names have emerged too over the last couple of centuries. It's hard to imagine Rodney King being a decendant from Louis XIII for example. And now we have are living in a time that surnames actually don't add to the identity we have. We are more bound to our own chosen online usernames than ever. The freedom that comes with this is immense.

The network 2.0

And here we are, all adventurers on our own terms. Some are new to Steemit but very used to other platforms like Facebook or Youtube, others belong to Steemit's inventory but have no presence elsewhere. But we all share one thing: The Passion of the Steem. This really is our Red pill. Our truth and the abandoning of the falsehood presented by the corporations and existing old boys networks around the world. Their only goal is to keep the world sedated.

Steemit offers everybody the chance to redeem their believe in false prophecies and be part of the new world. A brave new world I might add as we are the pioneers of the internets. This our adventure and from the start we experience that it may be a bit harder to succeed than imagined.

Sidekick Galore

Like Neo got Morpheus and Frodo got Samwise we can't conquer Steemit by ourselves. The bravest heroes really could only become heroes due to the fact they had even braver sidekicks willing to sacrifice themselves so the hero eventually could succeed. And if you want to succeed for real you will need at least one sidekick who can guide you and show you the way.

So really your first steps on Steemit should be to follow and interact with people. Join the Discord Steemit channel and listen to the expierenced Steemians. Suck in the information like a sponge and slowly start you blog. Invest time in networking with different people. Guide newcomers like yourself and share the knowledge you gathered over the last couple of days.

You can succeed. Charles Dickinson prooves that he did make a name for himself even with that surname. And if he can do it so can you "MrMr47", "MajesticCatLady123" or "BiancaandJohn4ever". Just make sure to follow the right people from the start so you can grow the right way. And read the tips and tricks fellow Steemians share!

@sidwrites Joined May 2017. Makes a living of of Steemit already. Very inspirational. Follow him, check out his posts and get inspired to write. Look at the amount of followers he has already. He not only blogs but is very active on both Discord as well as Steemit itself. He basically followed the do's exactly to the point it brings him the well deserved success.

Allthough I don't fully understand the concept of being a witness I can tell that these guys are the reason why Steem is Steem. They are the beating heart of Steemit and everything that is connected.
