Steemit Beta is astounding!

in #steemit6 years ago (edited)

On the first week of October I came first came across steemit. It was different to me, something very new and interesting. I was intrigued; just within a few clicks around the website I found myself keen to learn about steemit, to become a part of it.

Boy-oh-boy!!

I made a plan, a preliminary one: I wanted to learn steemit beta's ways. And what an educational month it was, the ride of a lifetime.

I withheld from posting anything for the first 7 days; instead I spent time exploring the platform. Didn't take long enough for me to notice a majority thought of steemit as a "become rich quick" scheme, but to their demise. I went through the NEW TRENDING HOTand PROMOTED sections, I went through the tags and checked out the tags by payouts...and I loved the feature.

Never did I think of steemit as an income source but still I wanted to come, see and conquer steemit in my own way:

  1. I wanted to experiment the limits as much as possible.
  2. I wanted to become part of the steemit beta community, enjoy my time here and put out something that potentially would be appreciated.
  3. Mainly,
Feel like a steemian by posting like everyone else and becoming successful. How? By gaining traffic and attention. Why? The primary idea of traffic is that you gain reputation, gain followers, gain upvotes (appreciation is what I personally call it), and fill the wallet with SP and all the other magical stuff.

So how did I plan on executing this?
By being genuine
Personally, I thought that being genuine and real to myself is the only way I would find satisfaction in my mission, in my experiment.

Yes, @blind-spot is an experiment in the making.

Here's what I found out by myself, even if it were not perfect science:

•Strategy: Using the right tags, hitting post at the right time, reaching out to "communities" for support, creating interaction, consistency, and quality writing. The perfect combination of these is surely going to skyrocket the "traffic" to a certain post and help "growth".

  1. Writing quality matters; I noticed the difference in "traffic " in different writing styles, quality writing gaining the most traffic.

  2. Consistency is key; I took single and multiple days breaks from posting and upvoting to see how it effected "traffic " and "growth".

  3. Tags: the appropriate tags are important, but appropriate tags which are at the moment popular or have rhe biggest payouts mark the endline.

  4. Genuine interaction: I went around reading with genuine curiosity and interest. If I had a question, I asked. If I liked something, I complemented. If I disagreed, I debated. What happened? In the steemit world this leads to a symbiotic relationship. I made the loveliest of friends and moreover mutual supporters!

  5. Timing: There's a sweet spot that I haven't found out yet, but there has to be a specific time of the day that has the most active members. And I'm sure it will make a big difference in traffic. My hunt is still on to find the perfect time to post.

  6. Tread-not-carefully: Exploring to find out the niche that I'm both passionate about and also has a wide recieving audience has been a challenge. But, once known, it becomes a driving force to create a powerful following.

  7. Contests: steemit has a lot of them. Why are they great? You tell me in the comments.

But, all the freedom to carry out my own personal experiment wouldn't be possible without some really influential people. I want to thank you guys.

@priyanarc, was the first one I spoke to openly about steemit, and she is my true inspiration. Truly talented writer. Not only did she readily help me in every single step, but she showed me the value of quality writing. She unkowingly taught me the value of niches on steemit.
Follow her, now!

@bdcommunity and @steemitbd were my first steemit beta friends. Yes, they both are communities, but are like the group of friends I couldn't have cut my bday cake without. From coaching to having people to chat with and get some steam off they were always there. Seriously, I'd have gone insane without these guys having my back.
join their community!!

@cranium is still one of my favorite bloggers. He has a great and friendly community, too. I remember him making time to answer my questions and inquiries. He provided me, through his community, some fundamental information for which I am forever greatful.
follow him and join his community!!

@welcomewagon is the single most powerful engine to push start new users. @dreemsteem was kind enough to invite me to be a part of it and enroll me into a 7 days training camp. I learnt every single corner about steemit that any user needs to know. The best initiative!! Where are the whales? Why aren't they supporting this communtiy?
MUST JOIN AND SUPPORT!!

@shadowspub till date I am confused...why me? But yes, the massive SP delegation gave me the room I needed to do what I planned on doing from day 1 without hesitation.

From the bottom of my heart I want to thank the aforementioned. Forgive my forgetfulness if I forgot to mention someone. Steemit is a place to grow and learn from, and that's my aim.

Conclusion: Yes, making a big wad of cash is possible on steemit beta. Yes, strategies are the way to go on steemit. But, being real and genuine is what I personally felt as the most satisfying.

Steemit, to me, is a science lab. Everyday I keep thinking what can I do different, what limit should I test next, how far can I make it, what absurdity should I try next, what's my next milestone on steemit...

That's one more blind spot from Blind's pot.

I found your post hugely enjoyable to read and it reminded me a lot of my initial journey as I arrived on the blockchain...

There are so many communities to engage in and to find fabulous friends and build a strong sense of connection. There are so many different avenues that you can choose to use to propel your journey forward, they are literally endless...

I believe we could be active here 24/7 never ever taking a break and only ever engage with a couple of percent of the people here and I know that we could never ever have enough time to explore all the great ideas that flicker through our mind.

At a time when I am crazy about engagement again and building for the future I am supremely happy that I stumbled across your post whilst looking for a victim to Snek 😁

I wish you the very best for the journey and hope your adventure is a truly amazing one!

@stevenwood I really love that you found the post enjoyable, that's my primary aim

LITERALLY ENDLESS. Look at steemfest for instance, or any steemit meetups. so many connections and people to connect with a build a friend circle with.

And I am extremely happy I stumbled across you because of this post. I wish you likewise
I wonder how long does my curiosity about steemit sticks along....

This is a very sensitive moment market wise, but we´re still here, we´re still engaging, sharing, making friends, building up...
It was always more than a number and hope price gets back to aknowledge the value of that but but still there are many positive things we should not overlook :)

Once the concept of earning becomes secondary, there is no way anything can pull you away from the micro-life you have made in steemit, thats what i think

I love your voice btw <3
