Why Do Critics Have the Wrong Mindset?

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

Anytime we put ourselves out in the public eye, we often have to deal with a lot of criticism and judgment. Most of us already know this and is often why we may prevent ourselves from doing so or will need to have our work perfected before published, which can also prevent us from following through.

This can make it tough for people to put themselves out there but I will explain why you should not concern yourself with this and to take action always!

Why are so many people critics and why is that the wrong mindset to have?

The reason the majority of people will criticize is because they look at what is wrong in the world, rather than what is working, what positive message they can learn from it, and the beauty in what is there. We know that most people have a negative, pessimistic outlook and this makes perfect sense why most people criticize. This is their way of thinking, their mindset and they will always find what is wrong over what positives are there.

This really struck me when I saw the picture below and because I deal with my share of critics as I put myself online every day. I shoot videos and write blogs with a strong belief to take massive action, no matter how you will look. What I do is not perfect but I know the improvements will come as I continue to produce more. The critics hate this! They want everything to be perfect or you should not be doing it basically.

This picture illustrates where the average person stands. Majority of people are critics, then you have many talkers with no action and only a few doers in the world.

Take Action No Matter What People Say

Knowing that most people have this mindset, you should definitely not get discourage because of what will be said about you when you put yourself in the spot light. You are different from the crowd, you take action, while the critics do not…. they stand from afar and pick out what is wrong. They will not have the will to take action because they would pick out all the reasons to prevent this. You think differently!

No matter what somebody’s background is or what life choices they have made, I always look at what they have done right and how they achieved what they did. I look at the lessons I can learn from anybody. If they failed, I see what I can prevent myself from doing to not have that outcome. If they are a horrible person with massive success, I look at how I can achieve that success in my own way.

When I see faults in my content I think about a mentor I follow, Grant Cardone. He wrote a bestselling book that has over 300 misspelled words. Everyone always tells him about the spelling errors and how he should fix it and it looks bad. He says I wasn’t trying to write the best written book, I wrote a bestselling book.

The point he makes, he is not perfect and it does not matter. The information is so valuable and that is why it is a top selling book, along with getting attention in general. Nothing will happen if you do nothing.

Steemit Community

This is not a big issue on Steemit as the community here is the most positive, optimistic, and so open to learn from each other than any other platform online. This could very well be because of the immediate reward system we have here but in my opinion is what will make it become a massive success.

Steemit creates such a positive, growing, expanding, and educating community which is the structure of success with everything. The strength of communities is what has made social media platforms always succeed and we have such an amazing system to support the community.

Over the past couple years this is how I approach everything in my life and that has exploded more positive growth than I have could ever imagined. Not only is this positive for our platform but it helps us create positive habits on how to engage with people and the world.

@bitdollar

Help support me on Steemit by engaging on this post!! All feedback is greatly helpful to better myself, my content and as well as everybody else that follows.

The words are water with which we are flush the flower in ours fellow man souls, if we knew the whole truth about a person inner world, pain, experience, trauma, hope and motivation, we would be gently like the morning breeze. Great article. I am starting to follow you with great interest. Thank you.

Wow that was beautiful and much truth there! People would not be so harsh if they knew where the person was coming from or was someone connected to them. Thanks so much for sharing that!

Thank you. Our main task, and especially for marriage, is to spiritually approach each other as closely as possible. It requires courage and trust in the other person. To truly meet each other, we need to meet each other as we really are, to meet one another's soul injuries. But once this road is done, with other people it's getting easier, because you've met love in this way. This is the only way to get to know yourself, others and the world.

Beautifully put. I think once we realize and recognize that we are all one, we are the same, you see how that person has all the same qualities of a human as you, we start to approach and treat people in a much different way. I had this realization this past year and changed a lot how I connect with people.

Either great pain or great love changes people fundamentally. It helps to realize that a person is one whole entirety. When you love, your whole essence loves, the same is with the pain. These two things put together a human beings body, mind and heart. Who usually lives seperately and tend to conflict with each other. To understand that we are all one, one has to admit that he himself is one integrality. It is not easy, I am still on my way because of the road to my self never ended. The same as love, when you have experienced it a bit, want more.

This is so true. I have replaced almost all with love and now it is the only way of life I feel. I want to keep it going and increase it!

Great insight of love and pain. I might just have to write a post on that, it is very interesting. Anywhere I can do some more research on that?

Thanks @agluck...you are filled with wisdom!

Conversation, dialogue and even debate can all lead to learning. We do not have to agree to care and be civil to one another. Criticism is just plain negative energy. Great post keep up the good work.

You know, how they say: everything that is said to you by other people has nothing to do with you or the thing they're talking about. :) Actually, it's about them, their world and their vision. Tricky thing here is that it is not only about the "bad things", but also about the "good things"... When you receive a compliment or something like that - this again actually has nothing to do with you and does not that you're actually the good guy. It's just an opinion of another human.

But the most valuable and reasonable opinion - is our own. :)

So it's a good thing to work on one' s self-esteem. :D

And I love your idea on getting to learn something from everybody. I use it myself and this is adorable! Actually, it even prevents me from being a critic myself, usually. :)

Wow this comment was perfect. I often say it is a mirror of there own thoughts or insecurities but this made much more sense. Self-esteem is very important and then to take everything with an educational ear. We can always learn something from what we come across.

Thanks so much for this @aleksandraz! I do my best also to not be a critic! :)

@bitdollar, great article. We need to be people of action versus people who tear down other peoples' action.

It is so easy to focus on the worst in ourselves and others. Instead we should learn how to build each other up.

Keep Steeming!

Loved this message here @sumatranate! Attacking peoples actions is terrible. We need to build them up as you said and give constructive criticism to help them achieve there goals. You summarized this very well for me.

Anytime we put ourselves out in the public eye, we often have to deal with a lot of criticism and judgment.

Jeez, TELL ME ABOUT IT!!!

Amazing Post very Informative
Keep it up like that

I agree. Good information

I never listen to critics tho, for example I always watch the movies that seem to be cool even if the critics shit talk it to the ground. Nice of you for making this :d

Yea for that you don't need them. They are just positive for the changes we may need to make that our friends may not tell us. Thanks @dokan!

I tried as much as i can to keep my ''positivity'' levels as high as i can especially here on steemit. I don't something else to say, your words were so true and that reasoning i am trying to follow. the below part of your posts i think is the rule for everyone to succeed!

No matter what somebody’s background is or what life choices they have made, I always look at what they have done right and how they achieved what they did. I look at the lessons I can learn from anybody. If they failed, I see what I can prevent myself from doing to not have that outcome. If they are a horrible person with massive success, I look at how I can achieve that success in my own way

Same here I try to always keep that positivity flowing and growing! It only benefits us. Thanks for your comment @filotasriza3!
