Hi again everyone! I am keeping my word to keep the series going!
I would like you to comment with your visual aids or written ideas of what you think Steemit can use to improve the Community for features and why.
Comments sections here are GOLD as we know, some great TIL learning and tips usually pop up too here.
Part of the reason I do this series and share other things / series I do, is for the TON of new people coming to Crypto and Steemit daily, I mention this daily in a post or comment somewhere.
They need help and resources. They feel lost when they are Steemit / Crypto noobs. I know I did.
Comments sections are great learning places for all of us -- but new Crypto folks especially.
It's now several weeks or so after the latest big changes, the latest Hard Fork (HF) / the Steem Powering downs latest rounds, many of those cashouts done and seeing some stabilizations, some bugs fixed etc.
The rewards pool is seeing a lot of changes again.......
Views, Spam, Engagement & Meaningful Comments:
Views and engagement still seem to be down and that is why I try to do so many posts / series to BOOST engagement.
The last while I have been wondering if it simply because we have so many accounts here now.
I was the first person to blog that I am aware of - of us crossing the $300k account mark recently here. The other part of me is thinking -- how many of those are just bots because that is a rising problem?
And if there ARE that many accounts.... one might think the comments section would be growing exponentially with all our posts too, right?
Spam and spammy comments are one of the biggest topics now every single day in the community here and many of us are struggling with it, and how to deal with it.
It's OK to gather new ideas but if the same issues pop up, that is great too, because it will send the message that something is more important to the developers and Steemit Elders. My goal is again - use this blog post as a resource to help the dev's and the community members. I can combine them into one post later on if needed to help developers or members.
It is easily searchable also -- as I use the same key phrases / words etc. in the title to keep it searchable - more easily.
I was trying to pick good tags...... I decided to use the TIL or HOWTO tags -- hoping someone either looking FOR help on learning something -- or someone looking TO help on these things would comment! I thought about that one for a couple mins.
If you want to tag people or share it so others can comment and contribute also, that is great. I have my own ideas and see a lot of people talking about it, but as someone who is NOT - I REPEAT NOT! tech savvy like many of you, and who is relatively newer to the Blockchain and Crypto stuff, I know my role is limited to give ideas, I am just a Fat Minnow LOL.
But I have been an activist for years, I am used to building community and gathering info and trying to help so I guess you can blame the activist side of me for this idea which I think is a good one -- an INTENTIONAL POST on the idea, to gather stuff in one place and be easily searchable and findable for all the IT types and developers etc.
Just my way of trying to contribute. I did not even know for sure what tags to use in this post, and I actually spent 5 mins looking and researching the best ones in the past to try and use, before I posted this LOL. I will edit the tags ASAP if you give me better ones to use!!
Noobs can find the TIL or HowTo tags and nuggets here helpful, as I mentioned earlier here.
If we can get some good feedback going, we can use these ideas, all in one place and people can refer back to them. That's why E.1 / E.2 /E.3...4/5/6/7/8/9, etc etc - was in the title, I am hopeful it is helpful as a resource.
We must always head towards the path of Liberty. And help others on this path.

Hi Barry, hope you're well and doing ok! Two things I would like to see on Steemit. A better resteeming facility. People dont like to resteem because it 'clogs up the feed' I am a huge fan of resteeming and that to me is a big part of the community here to get people noticed. An idea maybe to have a resteeming facility thats detached from individual blogs (although I feel it defeats the purpose) and another thing is I struggle to read on here (This is a big ask and Im not sure it would even be looked at) with my dyslexia I struggle with the black white and blue. One more ting...whilst I am on a roll the flagging wars get on my nerves. Steemcleaners do a really good job at getting rid of the junk but I dont like vigilante groups. Could we not donate steem to people so they can attend a yoga class to chill out haha! Apart from thosethings I'm happy with Steemit as it is. Keep up the good work !
Is there a possibility to collaborate on an article and share the rewards, e.g. wikipedia style collaboration on an article on steem (of course not by sharing the same account, but with separate ones)? That would be something I would see as very useful!
Nice post.Firstly Steemit should make resteeming reversible.
Secondly Steemit should look for a way to reward minnows with quality post better.@screenname identifies posts that are undervalued,i believe they should go a step further by rewarding such posts.
Thirdly,you could set up an unbiased curation team to help noobs hone their skills by identifying their weakness,making neccessary recomendations in order to improve the community.Stay blessed.

So Let me give you a few thoughts... New people don't have enough attention. The fact that a row of bots, and high networth individuals get every post upvoted; posts are not really evaluated on actual content. While this is getting better, -with more people having money. Re-weighting the algorithm to include other factors (like number of comments, time stamp of votes, number of upvotes, number of shares, number of views) could help with this. I am still optimistic; but it is painful to post and make $0.01. Why should you bother. I know people say well get followers, but what if I want content judged by content, not a popularity contest? maybe we could add in multiple ways to view the posts.... IE a half dozen different views that would order them differently? Series; could help but takes a lot of time. Anyway wanted to share a few thoughts...
Although we all love the idea of decentralisation, there can be advantages to having some things centralised. Like a notice board for example. Perhaps you want to make sure everyone hears about something, a scammer or other valuable information that all should know about. Or perhaps you have arranged a live gig etc. Also there are a lot of valuable services on Steemit that are hard for the beginner to find out. The Steemshop, The Art Gallery, the bookshop for example. These took me ages to find out about. If I knew of a central place to go when I signed up, this would have been enormously helpful. A central noticeboard type place for such things I feel would do well. But it has to be visual. People love simplicity.
I know we have the "promoted" category but from what people tell me it is not really working as well as it used to before the last hardfork. (when it was 24 hrs to upvote rather than 7 days). It seems that folk view the "promoted" section as a kind of cheat to get their posts seen in order to make money and so they are ignoring it. I dont know how true this is but this is the feedback I am getting.
However, all understand the concept of a "notice board" perfectly well.
We have such a notice board in my village. I see people looking at it everyday when they go to the post office. I saw two new posters on there this morning "Apartment to rent" and "Brass Concert this Sunday"
Imagine a page where you see lots of little icon type pictures that tell what it is like a click-bait header with a small image) and you can click on it and see further details if you wish. The notice board could have a limited time of 3 days for example and after that it is automatically deleted. If anyone abuses the system with scamming or advertising then they could be banned thus eliminating such selfish behaviour. Just a thought.

Its been a tough 5 months. The summer season is when I make most of my income. I run an art gallery and I also own a restaurant. This year was exceptionally more busy than usual with a lot of unexpected challenges. I had no time at all to blog or even look at a computer. I really missed it too, which see as a positive.
I have sold the restaurant now as it was taking far too much of my time. I took it over about 8 years ago and it gradually started taking more of my time. It was an exciting experiment for a while but it was not me really. We live and learn I guess.
I appreciate you thinking of me Barry, tagging me. Sadly.there is no way I would have seen them. Two reasons; One it seems I do not get a notification when someone tags me (not sure why or what is wrong there). And two, I have not been on my computer. So please dont think I ignored you. You are and always will be one of my favourite people on Steemit. You were one of the first to welcome me. Hey we have some history you and I!

I understand you Barry. There are just so many people on here now, it is beginning t explode. Just so you know, if I write something on a post of yours, I do NOT expect to get a reply because I know just how busy our lives are these days. I do not feel bad at all. If I do get a reply then I see it as a bonus.
When friends, do not see each other for a long time and then can just pick up where they left off, that is a sign of a genuine friendship. Even though we have never met, I always had that sense of a friendship with you Barry. I have always had a good gut feeling about genuine people. I have never once been wrong.

I read Steemit Needs Series as 'Steemit needs a Series feature'. That would be my request. It's hard to tie a series of blog posts together when you can't edit the older posts anymore. You could use a special tag, but others can use that tag too. I want to link from all to all posts in the series, for people who find older posts through search engines.
