Grinding it at steemit gym?

Looking at all the doplins and whales raking it up at steemit with their every post is both an inspitation as well as a morale crushing experience, especially for a minnow seeing the little if any attention that my posts are getting. It almost felt like the world is just so unfair, why the difference in attention or most importantly the upvotes? It almost seemed like they have it all easy, too easy...

Not exactly a gym buff, not even close in any sense of the word, but my trip to the gym today made me reconsider my experience here at steemit.

No one walks into a gym and expecting to walk out like Arnold Schwarzenegger after a day or two, not even in weeks or months. So why then do I expect to perform like the whales after only about 3 weeks on steemit? I must be insane or borderline mental to have that kind of expectation and it's just too easy to see how enthusiastic rookies storm on to the scene, bombarding with post after post and then fizzle out after a week or two while complaining that steemit is a game only for doplins and whales.

Has it occurred to us that maybe, just maybe the doplins and whales probably started the same way we did? I'm sure similar to the muscular and well-built men at the gym, the "big guys" on steemit were not just born that way. They were probably grinding it with discipline and persistence before being in the shape that they are in now. We are just seeing the results.

So much like grinding it in the gym, perhaps minnows like me should expect to grind it on steemit, paying my dues, working my way up, taking baby but consistent steps while fully expecting pains, disappointments, frustration and most importantly, quit complaining.

Does that guarantee success? Probably not and again, drawing reference to the gym, no one in the gym is guaranteed to walk out being a finalist at Mr. Olympia, no one is guaranteed to be a steemit superstar no matter how hard you work at it. But the odds are good that consistent grinding at the gym would make one healthier and consistency on steemit would actually make one better at organizing one's thoughts and wording them. Ha... I actually learned loads on different topics just by reading the multitude of posts on different subjects. And they said that steemians are mostly intelligent and so I have discovered too, even the insights I have read on different areas of life are often thought-provoking and even have perpectives that I myself would probably never would have considered otherwise.

So expect growth as a person :) Nothing else. It saves the heartaches.

Keep at it, like grinding at a gym, don't quit it.

Enjoy the journey and the ride. I know I am :)

Money is still good though... hahaha... If it comes, it comes...

That's a great post. Spot on for sure. If you keep posting great ones like this you'll do just fine. We just need to get you in front of more people. Let's start now!!! 🚂🚂🚂
I Resteemed it!!!! RISE AND STEAM RISE AND STEAM.

Appreciate the attention and encouragement :) Definitely not giving up and will continue to grind, taking the disappointment and frustration that comes my way :)

Well said @alexthemagician. Yes, it is disheartening to put hours of work into a post just to see it disappear in the Steemit sea with barely a ripple but, like you say, if one does it for the fun of posting, any payments are a bonus.

A lot of the big fishes on here were in at the very beginning and could build up huge amounts of SBD and Steem Power. Today the likes of us small minnows have to work a lot harder to get anywhere.

If we all keep posting, interacting and building up a good set of followers, we should do alright.

Upvoted and followed. :-D

Thanks for the attention and affirmation, I will continue to grind :)

Great observation, the parallels are striking!

I think most people do expect to walk out like Schwarzenegger in a couple of days but quickly realise the commitment it takes.

Hopefully people will be able to adjust their expectations and grow in their own way rather than becoming disheartened and quitting.

Really appreciate the attention and encouragement :) I will continue grinding and managing my expectation :)

We all start somewhere. If we keep working we'll be on the trending page one day. Maybe tomorrow who knows, much love.

Let's continue our quest :)

Thanks for sharing these beautiful thoughts. That is what we are all facing now

It's all good, especially when I manage my expectations well :) taking a baby steps and grinding it :)

I like your style and STEEM on Brother !!!

Thanks for your attention and encouragement :)

Nice post and a great way of thinking! It is hard to start at the bottom but from there the only way is up...😎

Good Job Bro, Keep It Going And Stay Motivated :)
