Announcing the Winners!
Hello Steemians, last week we announced our contest to win a trip to SteemFest 3. Thank you so much for all your nominations and comments! We’re announcing the winners below, so if you see your username there, be sure to email us at [email protected] so that we can coordinate your trip.
Performing Arts
The person with the highest number of nominations for the performing arts was @yidneth, with the second most votes going to @katrina-ariel. Since there are two spots for performing artists, we’d like to give these two users those slots.
Comedy and Art
@enginewitty received the most nominations for Stand up Comedian / Spoken word, while @leotrap received the most nominations for the art category.
We’re happy to say that, for the purpose of this competition, we think the free trips should go to all the users who received the most nominations from you all.
Raffle
As far as the raffle goes, @goyard received a large number of votes in different categories, but not enough to win … so we’d like to give them the raffle ticket.
Thanks for everyone’s participation in this contest. This is the first time we’re doing anything like this, so thanks for helping to make it work. As of now the post has over 870 comments!
SteemFest is Special
While we know it’s going to be amazing regardless, we’re excited to contribute to SteemFest 3 in this small way. It wasn’t until the first SteemFest that it became clear what we had helped to create; a passionate, engaged, and brilliant community that had come together to create a more decentralized, open, and free future for all humanity.

We just thought it would be more fair to allow Steemians to pick the winners democratically. Didn't realize anyone would take issue with deferring to the will of the community.
There are people that were already mentioned that I didn't bother to re-mention. Counting the number of nominations someone received when the number of nomination isn't supposed to count isn't the will of the community. It isn't good practice for a company to change their stance nelly willy as if what they say doesn't matter.
Way to avoid the issue.
Doesn't democracy include knowing that you're voting ?

Thanks for doing this. I'm sure all of the winners will enjoy their time at STEEMfest, and can relax now about just how they might actually make it there.
Congratulations to @yidneth, @katrina-ariel, @enginewitty, @leotrap, @goyard. I haven't interacted with all of you yet, and some only a couple of times, but I do wish you all well at STEEMfest3, and hope that it turns out to be a great experience for all of you in as many positive ways possible. :)

So, now that you know you're going, do you have any ideas of what you're going to do for posts, and so forth? My guess is, we will probably be fairly inundated with some kind of live streaming. It's still early, so if you don't, no worries (just curiosity)—you still have time to figure all that out. I was just wondering what you might be most interested in being a part of and if you know what's going on, what you might be looking forward to doing/seeing/participating in the most?
Nice point @GlenAlbrethsen....! @RoelandP already has every service (photography and stream) fully covered and everything will be perfect ;)
As I see It's going to be the very first time I will relax about Steem in those 17 moons
I've been working almost 10-12 hours a day for the Blockchain making my best about promo and now is the moment to stop for a while and enjoy this very different moment, interact, enjoy, meet Steemians... you know. Of course my equipment will be in there with me, so if a hand is needed Im always ready. ;)

Yes, I will be performing. YAY! I'm so excited about that. But what I'm looking forward to most is time spent with friends. :)

The people primarily, what this is really all about. A couple I have already met, like @gmuxx when he came to his first trip to 'Merica, @rhondak, who has been at one of #thealliance meetups and I went to visit with @thewritersblock, and @katrina-ariel, whom I have spent the most time with off chain.

Congrats to the winners but what happened to "1 Open raffle for all" . You should have added another seat rather than promise something and take it away from 870 steemians who participated. Pretty cheap imo.

Thank you to @steemitblog and to all my fellow steemian friends thinking of me for this. I am humblee and grateful and añso aware of the beautiful compliment. I am so honoured and though I am yet to find a suitable plan I am determined to make it work. Just get me a keyboard and mic I am happy to sing, you eont shut me up lol. I will write later on, also to check if there is any chance to be able to share my room with @hedac though not posting much he is half of my team and coperformer and fairly I would like not to travel alone. Bringing him over may be something i may not be able to afford but asking for possibilities to make it easier guess do no harm trying. I will find a way. Still trying to make things to work pretty sure I will find a way. Congrats to all winners and hopefully (cos I owe some hugs to people i know will be theee) see you there.

We have sorted it out so my partner can come with me, we have to avoid further expenses but we were helped to find a suitable affordable plan to get there. So I'll be performing one of the days and looking forward to meet everybody. :) Thanks for the kind wishes
