In the beginning, God created the Heavens & the Earth. God probably had some type of agreement with the angels. Lucifer broke the contract & forfeited his residence in Heaven. Lucifer was sent to Hell. Some of the angels broke their contracts & were also sent to Hell.

Adam & Eve were given a different type of contract than the one God had with the angels, right? Most likely, there are some differences. Adam broke the contract. Romans 5:12 described how that contract was broke & how the consequences of that broken contract forfeited Adam, & anybody that came from Adam, from the residence of the Garden of Eden. Humans were placed under a curse of sin. The law works as a mirror to show us that we have sin. The problem is not that we sin but that we are sinners. When we look at the whole story, we can see where it all started. It started in the garden.

Hebrews 11 gives an outline of what happened in the Old Testament with key figures. God saved Noah & his family from a flood. That ark was a symbol of salvation.

Romans mentioned Abraham. Hebrews 11 mentions Abraham. It talks about how Abraham had faith. Ephesians 2 talks about that faith. Hebrews 11 talks about other people that had faith. The emphasis and the keyword there is faith.

Many years after Abraham, Moses led the Hebrew people to the Promise Land, Israel. God gave the Ten Commandments to Moses. That was when the people of Israel entered into a new contract that was different than the previous contracts God made with others before that. After that, God gave them judges. They cried for a king like the other nations had. Eventually, God gave them a king by the name of Saul and then David. And then Solomon. A few kings later, there was king named Jehu. By the way, in the book, Paradigm, the writer compared Jehu to Trump. While there were kings, God then started giving Israel some prophets. God gave them time to repent. As a nation, they began breaking the contract God gave them. Then God allowed for justice to occur. Other nations conquered them. After that, there was Nehemiah. They rebuilt a wall. Reminds me of Trump & Oatmeal. Build that wall. Israel made a comeback, at least to some extent.

When Christ came, He preached first to the Jews and then to the Gentiles. We can look at Matthews 6:14-16 for example. In other places in the Bible, it may be referring to the contract God had with Israel. The keyword is contract.

So, like I said, Christ preached the Kingdom of God to the Jews and then to the Gentiles. Why? Because He was giving Israel enough time to accept the Kingdom of God. Their King was standing right in front of them. Israel rejected their King. After that, Christ made a contract with the Gentiles, that is anybody who is not a Jew. It also includes Jews as well. But it was a new contract. These different contracts are dispensations. Salvation can be defined by the contract. So, you must know which contract we have with God. Some verses may be referring to one contract. But in other verses, it may be referring to the previous contracts. That's why one should not take it out of context. Because there is a structure, a story, a purpose, in all of this. By the way, there is also another contract that is said to occur in the future, when Christ returns.

Ephesians 2:6 said, "And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus." Our address is Heaven, when we get saved. And Heaven is outside of time. Verse 8 said that we are "Saved by grace through faith." Not by faith but through faith. Another good verse is Philippians 1:6 which says, "Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ." Christ died in the past but for future sins. God is outside of time. When you are saved, you enter into a contract that is not bound by time. It is timeless. Your residence is Heaven. You are sealed.

assurance

How do we know we are saved? Look at 1 John 5:13 which reads, "13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life." John 10 talks about that assurance. The contract that we have with God is different than the contract God had with the nation of Israel which Israel rejected right in front of Jesus. That is why Jesus started going to the Gentiles after that. Things changed after that. Like a twist at the end of a movie.
