Chapter 1- The Roots of Organizational Behavior

Studying organizational behavior has not been around for a long time. It came about in the 1940’s that people found organizational behavior as a managerial concern.

From the perspective of early management theorists, people were primarily viewed as extensions of their tools and machines.

If you are at a job that you do not like, turn in your resignation letter and leave the facility. All workers should contribute to the growth of their company/organization.
Don’t work a job that you feel disrespected by your supervisor/ Either resolve the discrepancies or give them your resignation.

You should be motivated to perform tasks when at work. You should be confident that you are well trained to do your job.

The Hawthorne experiments showed that human behavior and motivation is complex being influenced by attitudes, feelings, and the meaning that people assign to their work and their relationships at work.
