13 mad things about Japanese
Japan dazzles us not only with its advanced technology and resourceful people, but also with incredible creativity. In this wonderful country you can find a lot of things that seem to us, to put it mildly, strange. Here are some of the things that do not fit into our understanding, but for Japan are commonplace.
Pointed fangs are a popular trend in Japan as they are associated with vampires or werewolves among young people. Dentists stick vampire fangs to your teeth. This procedure is quite expensive and costs about $400.
Toilet slippers are not something crazy for the Japanese. They just care about hygienic conditions and try to prevent unsanitary conditions. Separate house shoes are used to curb bacteria from spreading around a house.
Don’t be surprised when you see the Japanese parking lots. There is a problem of multi-million population within the country, and saving space in parking lots partly solves this problem.
The Japanese mayonnaise is no different from the Russian sauce, but it is used in very uncommon ways. We are used to dress salads with mayonnaise, use it as a sauce for meat dishes or sandwiches, but the Japanese use mayonnaise for pancakes, potato chips and even for ice cream.
In Russia the profession of elevator person is so outdated that we hardly can meet someone doing it for living. But in Japan, you can find them in hotels, shopping malls, and even tower blocks.
If you are freezing in cold weather, Japan’s puppy from the microwave will help you to keep yourself warm! The toy should be heated in the microwave and then it will keep you warm for a long time.
We all know what would happen if you fall asleep at work. A reprimand at a minimum. However, in Japan you can easily take a nap at work if you have worked hard and got very tired. Some especially resourceful Japanese pretend to be asleep to show their boss how hard they have worked.
We are used to chocolate or vanilla ice cream. But the Japanese ice cream has the tastes of octopus, cactus and horse meat, which, of course, seems savagery to us. However, in Japan this product is very popular.
If you decided to explore your own ears, the Japanese invented a device that will allow you to see hard-to-reach places where earwax lurks.
There are countless vending machines in Japan, but they amaze with their strange contents. For example, there you can see eggs, fruit, gloves, batteries and even used underwear.
For those who like to burst bubbles on the packaging, the Japanese created a special device that allows you to burst bubbles as long as you like. This activity strikes two birds with one stone - calms the nerves and kills the time.
Many of us have heard about the unusual taste of the Japanese Kit Kat. The chocolate flavored with wasabi, potato, boiled corn, green tea, soy sauce is very popular in Japan.
The Japanese took care of single men and women, and invented a special pillow for them, for the sweetest dreams.
