Minnows Helping Minnows - Getting Free Upvotes Without Paying Upvote Bots
If you joined steem on the recommendation of a friend or relative that by joining and posting on steem you can make money with steem, I am sorry to bust your bubble. It is not that easy unless you already have a lot of friends in steem who are willing to upvote you. But, take heart, there are ways to get free upvotes, even if you don't have any friends who are willing to upvote your posts and you don't have any money to buy upvotes from upvote bots. By the way buying upvotes is a losing proposition nowadays.
There are some community initiatives that help steem newbies (Minnows) to get free upvotes. One of them is @upvotebank. I use their service and get free upvotes for all my posts. If you are a newbie first you have to make some posts with original content(not copy and paste posts). You can find the guidelines to join them in their daily upvote report posts. One of the big problems with the steem newbies(Minnows) they get started with a lot of enthusiasm after looking at the payout amounts in the posts in trending and hot posts, hoping that they can get at least a fraction of it. But, when they post their posts at the beginning as newbies, lacking the support and following of big account holders, all they get is a few pennies and a few upvotes, if they are lucky. Discouraged and heartbroken they leave the steem never to come back. Some of them stay a little longer hoping for whales and other big fish to help them. That rarely happens.
What we, minnows, have to do is to take pro-active action, help each other and grow fast. How can we help each other? There are many ways to do it such as upvoting, buying and selling votes from minnows. Sharing ideas and strategies to grow our accounts fast. But in order to do it we have to form small communities and grow together.
