1. Communities of the Month - September
@steemitblog has announced that applications are now open for communities who would like to be considered for the Communities of the Month Support Program for September.
Six communities will again be selected for the enhanced support package from @steemcurator01, and a further 30 communities will given support from the @booming accounts.
Community Purpose, Community Retention and External Promotion are three factors that are mentioned as being particularly important in the selection process.
Applications must be submitted by 11.59pm UTC on Saturday, August 21st...
2. Steem Charity News
Steem News founder @pennsif has launched a new weekly news post covering the ever growing charitable activities on Steem.
The first edition covers the work of the World Smile Project in Venezuela, and Steem Womens Club's One Child Thousand Happiness project, as well the charitable activities of the SteemFoods, Steem Sri Lanka and Steeming Community communities...
3. SPUD4STEEM New Sponsor
SPUD4STEEM organiser @kiwiscanfly has announced another new sponsor for the monthly Steem Power Up event.
Comunidad Latina @cotina is adding to the delegations bringing the total SP available to the winners to 26,000 SP ..
4. World Smile Project in Venezuela
The World Smile Project, founded by @el-nailul, and managed in Venezuela by @mariana4ve, is now moving forward to build a house for Manuel and his family in Montalbán.
Land is available, funds are being raised, and now two civil engineers from the Steem.Amal team in Indonesia have offered to help.
@klen.civil and @sofian88 will be working on the detailed design and plans for the house based on @mariana4ve's initial outline...
5. Powered Up STEEM continues to grow
@remlaps has published another update on the amount of STEEM that is powered up.
Since last week the total has again edged up by another million to 131,875,051 STEEM powered up equivalent to a value of $72,247,635.
This is an impressive run with the number of powered-up STEEM tokens increasing for the last 30 consecutive days...
