Re-Steem to unlock the value of 'old' content

in #steem8 years ago

I've been creating content for many years. I started with a Blogger account where I wrote about two of my passions; Music and Money. I wrote posts about stocks that I was investing in. Other posts focused on music composition and production.

Blog

In the early 2001, I started learning music production and composition. I read many articles on the subject and started to create my own musical works. How many of you remember MySpace? I uploaded several of my musical compositions there. Now I post my music on Soundcloud.com.

YouTube

Next, I started creating YouTube videos aimed at teaching people how to DJ. I recorded several scratch videos which explained and demonstrated several well known scratch patterns.

Podcast

In 2015, I produce a podcast called The StartUp. The podcast focused on entrepreneurs who are in the midst of creating a startup. I wanted to learn about the products and services being offered. Also, I wanted to understand the mindset of an entrepreneur and discuss the many challenges faced while running a startup. You can read about it here.

Steemit to the Rescue

As you can see, I've created a decent amount of content over the years. However, most of the content has not benefited me in the ways in which I had hoped for. I believe other content creators may have similar experiences. Well that was until Steemit.com provided a frictionless montenization platform that's easy for content consumers to use, while simultaneouly rewarding content creators.

Call To Action

The purpose of the post is to suggest that content creators repost their previously created works on Steemit.com. Many of you have a wealth of hidden treasures which have never earned a single penny.

Why not repost those items here on Steemit.com? You will likely be exposing your works to a brand new audience that has never heard about you or viewed your creative content.

I encourage each of you to try this and see if you can unlock the hidden value of your content that may have been lying somewhere dormant. Please leave a comment of your repost and I promise to look at your content.

Re-Steem it

I'd also request that you add the tag re-steem to your post. It will serve as a collective area for content creators to view, upvote, and comment on each others work.

Let's build the community together.

Good suggestion. I wrote a post on things people may wish to consider when re-posting content:

I really like your post. It contained some very good suggestions. Keep up the good work. I'll will use some of your tips when I #re-steem my content.

@pairmike

someone please wikileak every zero-point energy device ever created.

Hey , nice post . Many people have created content for many years and never got anything in return. They have a chance to monetize it now.

I'll repost what I said on the Slack.

I was suggesting this to someone in person just today. People write very well thought out essays, even on Facebook, that might get a lot of discussion and 'likes', but by re-posting them in the wider interwebs they can monetize and have a much wider audience. If they end up not making much, meh, they weren't making any before either so nothing lost. There's only to gain.

@jamtaylor,

You are correct. I hope others will earn something for their #re-steem. If so, they might be encouraged to continue creating content on Steemit.
