Time to throw away the crystal ball? Or will the price of Steem take off from now?

in #steem7 years ago (edited)

Predicting the market price for a token is difficult, that goes for Steem too. And I think I might need a new crystal ball. It seems the price for Steem already had settled about 0.11 US $, so what was going on. The sea was too calm, silence before the storm? Speculators looking for the lowest possible price, buy low, sell high. Seems to be a theme today, but then mostly buying for as low as possible, becoming a lesser form of human being in the proces. But not overhere in Nederland, aka the Netherlands, it is a cold and bright day, we have sales in the stores here all year long. So, a relaxed friday it is.

A half year at SteemIt, and it has been quite an experience so far. Yes, I was there the day the price of Steem went through the roof, that was something, expectations were high, like the early adaptors were. Then the downward trend, worried many, some could not handle it, lost their cool. But at a certain point it all came together, the community, SteemFest united us again. And then the big changes ahead. The hardfork, word is on the street that 0.16 will be a real game changer. So is today going to be the day Steem will be bought by the millions? It seems that it will not go below 0.11 cents and that 0.09 really was the bottom price.

No matter what, again there are exciting times ahead, so close before the holidays and the speculations may have begun. All in a cool Steeming way, with content creating value, attracting attention, the Steem economy thriving. And we seem to get to a time where we are going to have fun here at SteemIt. Even getting a happy hour. And a great culinary challenge with a chill, well more one of a burst maybe, with peppers. Maybe the heat is really getting turned on a bit more today, on the Steem Market too? Because tuesday 29th of november 2016 the price of Steem might already be skyhigh again.

We'll see, at least it's fun to be here, six months have flown by, looking forward for the exciting times to come!

How about that!
Price seems to be moving. But Care must be taken.
Long term trend is still downward!
But maybe good for short term profit!

Nice to see it go upwards again for a change. Still it's speculation.

With SteemIt being just a minnow on the global market it's relatively easy to manipulate the price in any direction.
I'm going to be offline for two weeks in December, but before that I'm going to place two orders, one to buy for 0.01$ , another to sell for 2$ )

A low for 0.01? And then a sell for 2 US $, that would be some boost! Guess I would go for about 1.00.

Congratulations on six months! That is a long time! For me it seems that I've been on Steemit for much longer even if I joined in July. I could use a crystal ball!

Thank you Anca! It does indeed feel so much longer, I can relate to that.
And the crystal balls are not what they used to be anymore, so I started rolling the dice for a change. :-)

Thanks for your thoughts. The hard-fork may kick off a bull run, though I'm skeptical [ ie, burned :) ], but the long-term chart sure does look like a bottom is forming.

I'd keep my eye on Bitshares. Now that the Protoshares legacy crew is no longer getting Bitshares (iirc), it should go back to moving up. That's why I've resisted trading in my Bitshares for more STEEM.

You are welcome, but be aware, my dice seldomly throw 5 sixes. :-)
Can imagine that if you got burned before that you're staying further away from the fire. And it's true, the decline seems to have faded out for a while.

Did not know that about the Photoshares legacy, thank you for sharing that infromation! Bitshares is one of the tokens I do tend to keep an eye on.

Actually, I've bought more recently - but that's deliberate and (for me) moderate.

Good luck, hope it will rise soon!

And it seems Steem really has triggered some buyers interest...

Six months, well done for staying the course! I think the next few months into really next year will definitely be exciting!

Thank you!
It sure will not be boring!
