RE: SOS Daily News : all you need to know about the State of Steem @ 11 December 2018

in #steem6 years ago

Looking at the comments on Ned's post announcing the postponement due to illness... I'm not surprised he's not rushing back to do another livestream and get more negative comments. Even if he has the hide of a rhino, it's not going to have a positive effect on the price of Steem, if every time the CEO makes a public appearance people throw figurative rotten tomatoes.
I've never met Ned, and I've no idea what he's really like as a person. But he co-created Steemit and I didn't. Neither did the people who constantly have a go at him. If there's a better alternative to Steemit, they should go there! Or create a better alternative themselves!
Every now and then I hear about a fantastic new rewards-generating blockchain platform, but whenever I check it out, it seems to be either a copy of Steemit or a get-rich-quick scheme for the founders.
We're in the midst of a big crypto crash, which seems to be the result of an enormous bubble. This may have been inflated by banks and other big financial institutions chasing after Ethereum with its ICO creations. Then that went a bit sour due to ICO scams. ALL cryptos are affected, not just Steem. There is some positivity on the platform and some good ideas for moving forwards, but it seems to get drowned out amid all the whingeing.
OK, rant over. This is not aimed at @pennsif's post by the way, just inspired by the topic. I'm looking foward to tomorrow's broadcast. Great line-up. I'm sure there will be some good ideas and positivity!

It is for sure a difficult time for Ned. The problem with yesterday's noshow will be the lack of communication announcing its cancellation.

I will hold open an open spot for @ned just in case he would like to come on the forum tomorrow 😃

Don't be an asskisser. The guy plays his guitar while firing people and while everything is falling apart. Obviously he is not up to the CEO roll. And steemit is not that unimportant for the steem blockchain and whole eco-system. Also steemit fall can technically impact the blockchain.

It's not about kissing ass. That's why I said:

I've never met Ned, and I've no idea what he's really like as a person. But he co-created Steemit and I didn't.

I see what's happening now not as a failing of Steemit, but due to a crypto bubble that is now being deflated. I might be wrong. Time will tell.

Steemit is failing because it is poorly organized. That's so obvious.

So... the same would therefore go for Ethereum and EOS then? Their value has fallen by the same factor as Steem's value.

I'm not talking about falling steem value, but about failing Steem Inc. policies.
