Steem Ninja it is steemCreated with Sketch.

I'm sitting outside my job waiting for the doors to open, when I came across a post about Steem Ninja, a new platform to buy accounts for $2 using a credit card or debit card for that matter.

Don't get me wrong, I think this is a step in the right direction and I'm extremely happy to see oracle-d keep on kicking behind as they have all throughout this bear market. But, I don't understand the math here and maybe someone can shed some light on the issue.

Of course now we have discounted account creation and if this is the inventory they intend to pull from, then I guess this would work, assuming there is not a big influx of users, a big crazy spike in a short period of time. If however they intend to burn steem to create accounts, then this business plan is no bueno, unsustainable to say the least.

For starters costs are set on steem, not on USD, so even though $2 can get you a few tokens today, it might get you half a token hopefully sometime this year and as you can clearly see, that would throw a monkey wrench into the plan.

Assuming they will only use discounted accounts, which at this point we have to, that would also mean that they would be providing the delegated SP to make those accounts usable, thus having to power up constantly, making the business model confusing to me once more. I mean, again, I'm happy to see a solution being put forth, I'm just interested in the scalability and long term sustainability of the idea.

At any rate, I applaud @steem.ninja and @oracle-d for taking matters into their own hands.

To steal partially one of the lines that @therealwolf uses, partially of course.

It's things like this that show the community that we are steem, right?

Hope everyone is having a lovely Wednesday

Hi @meno,

First of all we would like to thank you for your valuable opinions and feedback on our new service.

Let us explain why we charge only 2$ and what this 2$ is used for.

First of all we have to pay a fee to stripe for every payment. This fee is usually 2.9% of the sold item price + 0.30$

Then we have to pay for our servers. Even though this project might not fund the whole costs it helps a lot.

In fact you get an account loaded with 15SP for 90 days which is worth 4.22$ at the moment of writing.

Another reason for a small charge is that we do not want these accounts to be used to abuse the rewards pool. For many people 2$ per account is a lot of money. We hope that this will be enough prevent or minimize abuse.

We will adjust the prices if, as you say there is a large influx of users, or the steem price changes. but for now, at current capacity, with the current projects ongoing on this amazing blockchain, we feel that we should be benevolently using our large resource credits and available steem power to improve the current situation where we can.

As ive said, you guys keep on being a light for the community... Thank you for continuing to build

A solution of this kind may address some of the issues now, but as a long term solution it may have to be tweeked.
One way or another it is nice to be seeing someone tackiling this problem.

@steem.ninja and @oracle-d once again have to be given some props for their constant efforts.

It is a useful move forward with Steem Ninja but they are not offering any delegated SP with the accounts.

Just got an update in from @oracle-d they are now delegating 15 SP for 90 days on each new account.

Still for $2.

Good work @oracle-d.

I think this will work over time but I think that the amount ($2 now) will need to change over time. I recently did this to finally claim my EOS tokens and paid about $8 to create an account whereas is was about $5 a couple of weeks before that (amounts in fiat). I think that the amount has to fluctuate with the costs in the blockchain and token do not need to be burnt as they are attracting revenue from the outside which is a great way to foster sustainable business models here in the ecosystem.

@meno, I have to go through from this subject matter but in my opinion, for the least we can Try and Fail, but till now @oracle-d have done amazing job no matter in which aspect. So hope that this step will move towards the productive results. Stay blessed. 🙂

Wishing you and your family an blessed year of 2019. 🙂

Roberto! Get to work slacker ;-) Hehe. Hope you had a happy new year my friend.

Yeah, that Roberto is a shifty one according to Roberto.

It's definitely good to see these kind of initiatives in the pipeline.

This was brought up in steemspeak a week’ish ago and allegedly not a trusted site. I’d do some due diligence before using it.
