Steem announces Partnership with TyperiumsteemCreated with Sketch.

This appears to be the big reveal between Steem and Typerium many had been speculating about.

Below is the reveal posted from the Typerium website.

Typerium & Steem Network Partnership: Blockchain Powerhouses Collaborate

"At Typerium HQ, we’ve been busy tinkering away behind the scenes. But the time has come for a huge announcement, one that positions Typerium perfectly within the “It’s never been done before” territory.

We’ve partnered with Steem Network, and Steemit, Inc. The Typerium and Steemit projects have a significant degree of overlap, but instead of staying fierce competitors, we have decided to join forces and help build on each other’s strengths. This is great news for both of our communities.

It means that Steemit users will be able to use Typerium’s slick and intuitive creative design software. Typerium supporters also have a lot to gain, because they will be able to publish content straight from the Typerium application to Steemit.

Working together will enhance the visual content on Steemit, making it easy for Typerium users to post their content to new audiences, and helping to facilitate collaboration between users of both platforms.

“The team at Steemit is very excited to be working with Typerium. This strategic partnership will help to strengthen Steem, and our long term vision for steemit.com” said Elizabeth Powell – Steem, Managing Director.

By teaming up instead of competing in a cutthroat battle, both Typerium and Steemit will be able to free up some of their efforts and resources away from competition and redirect them toward building better platforms and fostering stronger communities.

The platforms will stay separate, so neither project is sacrificing its vision. Instead, we are working together to improve the experiences of both projects, streamlining the flow between platforms to help creators gain new audiences, and making it easier for people to view the latest and greatest content.

Typerium is still working toward establishing its own social media that makes it easy for creators to interact with each other and their audiences. The platform will allow them to like and comment on content, post updates to their feeds, subscribe to the feeds of other users, add friends, follow the work of other creators that they like, and send direct messages.

This functionality will be on top of Typerium’s core design software. The application will make it easy to create beautiful content, all without needing years of design experience. The intuitive design software is just one component – the Typerium platform will also use blockchain technology to protect the intellectual property rights of creators.

Typerium’s platform will include a marketplace where users can buy, sell or license their creations. The marketplace will be powered by the TYPE token, our project’s own cryptocurrency. We also plan to expand the TYPE token to major businesses and other platforms, allowing people to use TYPE wherever they shop.

The Typerium platform has a lot to offer, and our collaboration with Steemit only enhances its functionality. This move will help to improve the features of both projects, as well as enrich the respective communities of each platform."

That is pretty much what I see as well. Not a huge benefit on the surface, but if typerium can build a community (that isn't just from steemit/steem) then it will benefit steemit and steem.

Exactly. It helps raise awareness. Ill check out Typerium and im sure many of their community will check out Steem. The problem is the competing tokens due to scarcity of $$$ the communities have. :)

Yep, would be ideal if we could also convince them to convert to an SMT (when they eventually launch that is) as that would help at least somewhat.

So to me it sounds like a new Steemit App that has a ton of features that will help content creators on the go have access to all of the best tools needed to make great content!

I can see why they partnered so closely with Steemit to make it easy to post directly to ALL social networks, however if you have the option to post on a social network that pays you crypto for your "upvotes" or one that does not.. Which one would you choose?

I am excited to see how this partnership will play out, and I saw in the whitepaper they were building on Ethereum.. Maybe they plan on moving to Steem and launching a SMT like you mentioned before. (Once SMTs launch obviously.)

Yes, so am I. I am looking forward to Inc officially announcing it and perhaps going into a bit more detail than we got here in this PR that was mainly tailored to Typerium users.

This is nice, but time will tell what effect if any it has on the price of steem.

I am not holding my breath in the near term, but who knows, it should be a net positive in the long run, even if only slightly.

yeah, I saw that thanks to your previous post .. It seems to be something BIG !!! even if I remain a just evolved noob :) I will have a look on their whitepaper and try to understand the most..!

It goes over a bit what they are planning on doing in that PR above, did you see that part yet?

nope, not yet !

but afraid, I will not have the time to read it at all ! .. and so I will prefer to continue reading your articles :) thanks for your nice work and search dear '

Never heard of Typerium. I had a quick look at it and first impression is actually quite solid. I'm looking forward to what it will bring.

I mean if they can actually build any kind of community it will help steem. Unfortunately it doesn't appear like they have much of one yet. Perhaps in time.

Looks like this could possibly be a match made in Heaven. Every bit of we can draw to Steemit is fine with me. I'd love to see more of this in the future.

Interesting as it seems as it could be a good opportunity for the protocol to have another chance at social media focus which is still has potential given the amount of potential users out there.

Hopefully that is the case. I feel like that has been a big failure of steem's thus far and I don't think the EIP will improve the economics nearly enough. I honestly think you can only solve the issues with communities and SMTs. Otherwise it's just mostly shuffling deck chairs around.

This post has been included in the latest edition of The Steem News - a compilation of the key news stories on the Steem blockchain.

Very interesting. I was wondering when Steemit would start partnering with other companies. In bull markets you see buyouts, but in bear markets you see partnerships forming to broaden the user/customer base and bring strengths from each side together. Hopefully this is a first of many to come, Steemit needs some backbone and more foundation underneath it to cushion things when there's not much air between us and the bottom.
