Let me explain below what i am trying to say.
I have been writing very great articles but unfortunately they recieve no upvotes(if they receive at all,its like worth 0.06$....!!!!)

That post earned a staggering 0.06$ in 4 days so far and it took me almost 4 hours to write it(i was not writing for the money though,but i expected at least 2$ since its a well thought and written post.
I hate to admit,but it hurt me that that post did not get attention!
I also wrote other great posts which are also languishing below 0.10 $ hehehehe.
This is really annoying considering the current high price of Steem Dollars(SBDs).
This is the right time people on Steemit are raking profits because of this high price.

It is now almost a week ever since the price of Steem Dollars Skyrocketed and guess what most whales have increased their posting activity on Steemit..
If you look at that image above,the price of Steem Dollars has been high fluctuating between 7-10 $ and its been a great time people have raked profits.
As you asked why Minnows are not earning from their posts now when the SBD prices are high.
Let me answer you.
The main cause of why Minnows are not being rewarded at the moment is this..
Whales who would have curated/upvoted on Minnows Posts have increased their Posting activity!!
I now see some whales who used to post 4 times a week now posting 4 times a day and their posts are doing really well.
It is common sense here, a Minnow cannot compete with whale..!!
So you might be asking what should we do as Minnows,let me answer below.
The Solution To Earn Is To Comment on Whales Posts..
I am glad as i present to you the solution that i just discovered yesterday
The way To Earn as A Minnow is to Comment on Whales posts,comment on as many as you can.
This is the solution i discovered yesterday and it is far better than writing a post(that takes roughly 2 hrs and earns 0.06!)
You can make a thoughful comment in roughly 8 mins and earn 2$ like shown on this screenshot below.
Another comment worth more than my post!
You might be wondering why i wrote this article and yet i know people might not see it.
I wrote because i know even if one Minnow reads it and takes action,i would have helped someone earning somthing small!
In conclusion it is more profitable to comment on Whales' posts than writing individula post which might end up not being seen,like what might happen to this post!

Great question,just go and check out on the trending page right now and also on the hot page.
The hot page is better because the posts are still new and you can engage easily.
Do not write generic comments though,they have to be thoughtful enough.

It is good at least one person has benefited from my post. I am happy my post reached at least one person.
Commenting is always a good way to get both some exposure and to earn more.
Plus more followers and more interesting interactions.

I think there is a whale sonar for that, and all the other fancy tools from the Steemit Tool App Center, but in my case I just refresh New feed and chose what fits my commenting skills the best. I rarely find anything in trending or hot and sonar sometimes moves too confusing for my taste.
@jaraumoses - I feel your pain brother, I'm in the same boat precisely. I spend hours writing great articles and then I get 0.06 for the post.. nowadays, I comment and upvote more instead and try to gain more followers.

I'm very new here and have written 4 posts. Introductions, and contest entries. I have been commenting a lot (not upvoting - because I over up-voted and lost lots of steem) and you're right, comments are earning more than posts. I hear about whales a lot but I think I've only bumped into minnows. How Doyle know when someone is a whale?
