2000 posts steemit.png

I have definitely learnt quite a few things since joining Steemit a little under 3 weeks ago. I have been taught so many lessons and I would be lying if I said that I am the same person that I was when I started here.. Because every single day has been a day of improvement and lesson learning.

I want to keep this simple to read. With that being said, I am only going to talk about one of the concepts I have discovered, but don't worry, it'll still be worth it.

The biggest lesson I learnt was the power of the Law of Averages.

I realized that so many people are always willing to complain, but never willing to put in the necessary work.

To be honest, it's difficult for me to structure this post right now, because there are so many thoughts running through my head at once.. But let me explain.

Below I will show a snapshot of my first 1000 posts, then under that when I made 2000 posts..

What do you notice similar in these two pictures?

2000 posts.PNG

If you didn't figure it out, it was that everything remained in proportion. Why? Because an average appeared.

See once an average starts, it's tends to continue. I like to work with the average of 1:4. That means for every 4 people I speak to, roughly 1 person on average will go to my profile and follow me.

Each and every action will, over a certain number of events, always create an average for itself. That's why some people will make 1000 posts and get only 100 followers.. Others will get 500 followers from only 1000 posts..

But that all boils down to quality. In my first 48 hours on this platform, I gained 200+ followers. I was so impressed with myself until I made my next post, and only 5 people saw that post.. My point is, your actions will create your average, which will create your final result.

I don't want to get too in-detail with this topic, as there is so much more I can discuss.. But in short, you need to find your average by doing consistent daily actions. You can then adjust your average by adjusting the quality of your actions.

For example.

In my first 48 hours, I had a very high conversion rate for posts:followers. I made like 300 posts (comments), and gained like 200 followers, but the quality of my actions were far lower.. I wasn't building any rapport. I just went and asked all the new members to follow me. Look at the result.. No upvotes.. No comments.. No engagements..

I then switched things up (literally to the opposite) and started only posting valuable comments. Some of my comments nowadays even exceed 500 words trying to assist some people.. So sure, maybe my post:follower ratio is lower, but the end result is my upvotes doubling.

My math on my average is the following:

⏺1:4/5 follow ratio. (every 4 comments I make, 1 new person will start following)
⏺Roughly 5% (to be safe) of my total follower amount will be received in upvotes. That's just a conservative sum. Usually, depending on the quality of your content, it can go up to 15-20% even.

So if I have 20 followers = 1 vote (average)
100 followers = 5 votes
500 followers = 25 votes
5000 followers = 250 votes
etc.

Now, for those of you always wondering how to them Whales to see your content.. I will actually keep this for a separate post, but it also ties into this.. Basically that concept works on a simple average too.

Your following will generally average with the largest portion being Minnows, the second largest portion being Dolphins, and the smallest portion being Whales. This average begins to come into play the more popular you get.

So, if you only have 100 followers, don't be shocked if you don't have any major people seeing your stuff. You need to allow the Law of Averages to play out. That's why you will see most of the smaller accounts making roughly only $0.01-$0.05 pet upvote they receive on their posts..

And then the larger guys you get even $1+ per upvote. They have a big enough audience to be able to let their average play out.

Again, I will repeat, there is a lot more to it, but I have tried to keep it fairly on the basis of the concept.

The main point of me saying all of this is simple.. If you are worrying that your content is not being seen, then stop worrying! With all respect, it's pointless. Stop complaining, and start working harder. Let your averages play out, because with consistency and persistence, they always will.

THE END.png

I would just like to give a shout-out to a few people on this platform that I have recognized in the last few days to really have their actions speak for themselves. You guys really put your actions where your mouth is, and I am proud of all of you! If you guys aren't already, then go and give each one of these guy's a follow :) They deserve it.

  1. @Sweetsssj - I honestly have no words for this young lady. Hands down the hardest working woman I have ever spoken to.
  2. @Papa-Pepper - This guy is just the utter perfect example of what I have spoken about in this article. Just on a MUCH LARGER scale! Keep it up my dude. You have inspired me.
  3. @Stackin - This guy is going absolutely 'HAM' on his account. He only joined around the end of May and he already has done over 5400+ posts, while gaining like 2500+ followers. Keep it up yo.
  4. @Saffisara - Just when I felt accomplished about getting 2000 engagements done, I look at her profile after her being super modest, constantly giving other people compliments, and she has done more engagements than me! I was super impressed. This woman deserves support on her content. Let's support her guys!

Sorry if this post was long, I hope you all were able to take something of value from it.

More than how much this post can make, I care far more about getting my content in front of newer faces. So if you would like to show your appreciation, it would be awesome of you to resteem this, and share it with others!

Talk soon guys.

wow your doing great! keep up the good work! :)

Thanks so much. Nothing more encouraging than hearing what you're doing is good! The future is exciting! Let's go with open arms :)

2000 posts in under 3 weeks. That's a pretty insane pace. That kind of commitment adds up and in a year it will really pay off. Congrats and thanks for the tip.

Haha thanks man. I appreciate that. Yeah I won't lie, it's not for the faint hearted, but it's definitely doable. Good to see you again.. And yeah it's true, I mean take @papa-pepper for example. He has made so many posts, but actually when you do the math, he has only done around 50 per day for a year.. The power of consistency!

I trust we will talk again soon.

Excellent point you make here. I'm a little more time restricted and can't make that volume of posts, but am working on averages too.

The more developed Steemit becomes as a platform and the more high quality content creators that it has contributing, the higher you will have to lift your own quality to get noticed. And as the plaform grows, this is of course getting harder and harder again.

That's why this little price dip in Steem and the slowdown in new account activity can actually help you if you stick it out and continue posting QUALITY content. It is easier to grow and be noticed right now, than ever before.

Take advantage of the averages. Don't let the opportunity slip by!

Excellently said @forexbrokr! We are in a gold-rush right now, and most people aren't realizing it! Like you said, we can't let the opportunity slip by. We need to take full advantage. Full steem ahead!

You are about to be up there with all that amazing people you have referred in this post. And i told you that already. Congrats for the 2000 posts 😁

You did tell me that. You are one of my OG's on Steemit. See, in the future, when the following is high, then naturally the people with try and engage with you.. But it's the people in the beginning, showing their constant support that mean the most.

Let's do this my dude.

Got Your back eheheh

Only my pleasure. Now let's take it to the top! See you at the top of that tower we were talking about ;)

Yes lets. Im starting now :0) thank u ♡

You're off to an impressive start here-- and well done on completing the community challenge with relative ease.

Speaking of averages, what I noticed about your account (both before and after) is something that's the same as mine... you follow about 1/4 as many people as follow you, which suggests you only follow people who post stuff you're actually interested in reading. Which is as it should be.

Steemit can be a bit of a "time hog" compared to other social media, but well worth it, I think... the authentic engagement level here is much higher.

Hey @denmarkguy. Thanks I appreciate that!

Yeah, I will admit the challenge was sort of second-nature for me as I was already going at a higher rate than the requirements.. Which was quite convenient LOL!

It looks like your blog is another perfect example of the math I was presenting! Obviously the ratio will always alter depending on the quality of the things one does (Like I mentioned in the article), so it make me very happy to be getting the same averages as yourself and @Papa-Pepper! I think that a great sign that you aren't being too pushy, but also not getting too little return for your actions at the same time.

Thanks for stopping by. It's fun when my viewers are able to relate with what it is I am saying :) I trust we will talk again soon!

Excellent observations @enazwahsdarb
I hope you continue the organic growth and reach amazing milestones in your Steemit journey.

Thank you so much @Merej99. If I were to make that appreciation lost longer, you would be the very next person on that list. You always put such huge amounts of effort into your comments on your blog. I can see you pay attention. True lady-boss!

I really enjoyed that challenge, by the way. To be honest, I was already doing all the requirements before I saw the post about the challenge, but I loved the initiative. Really awesome vibes there. How many people ended up entering the winning circle?

that all boils down to quality

Yup. Gotta be consistently quality!

It's so awesome that you stopped by @Papa-Pepper! You're a beast man.

Congratulations! Nice milestone, @enazwahsdarb :) You are working hard at providing tons of value to the community. I hope your numbers continue to skyrocket <3

Ah thank you so much @Jannell! You are also very supportive! I appreciate that!

really man 2000+ post in just 3 weeks time , I just realized what you meant by work hard in a comment on my introduction page today, that was really inspiring :)

Glad I could inspire you! Now use that motivation and work at it! :) If you read my previous post, at the bottom somewhere there is a great tip for newer people on Steemit. It's the 2 step process for success here. Enjoy :)
