Nobody is Panic-Dumping Steem
The price of Steem is down terribly the last few days.
It should be noted though that there's little evidence of a Steem dump. Like most cryptos, Steem is primarily traded in pairs against BTC. The Steem/BTC chart on Bittrex is a complete non-event. People are fleeing Bitcoin. It would be nice if they fled into Steem, but alas it can't always go our way.
Poloniex is not that different. It has more volume overall and has gone a little lower, and it's complicated by the fact that withdrawals and deposits are not possible. Still, no real story here.
I think steem has proved that it has value. I know it sucks for investors that the price is low, but in the long run it's better that it's undervalued while the markets are volatile.
I was invited to steem by two friends, both of whom are investors and I've built up from 0 as a minnow, so I see both sides of the coin.
Steem needs investors that believe in the platform. I'm not earning enough to make a living, but I've worked hard and in time I could see that becoming a reality. If steem is overvalued it brings in the kiddie investors - buy, sell, panic, overreact, fomo, fud, etc and that will hurt the platform in the long run.

I'm in the process of doing my first 'Buy teem" right now. Just waiting for my price to be matched. This is nerve-racking to say the least.

I would really love to, but unfortunately I'm not actually in the UK. Getting to the UK won't be easy in the next few months, I don't have an opportunity to take time off work other than for Steemfest.
My plan is to build my vote back up, my Steem Power being delegated away now, and hopefully after December I'll be able to commit more of my own time to promoting Steem as well as a larger vote for others doing the same.
Ah, situations that life presents!! Well, I plan to be at steemfest, so I will catch you there! are you bringing blue paint for branding the taxis in Lisbon with the steemit logo? ;))
