The Power of Promoting Steem Dapps on Reddit!
I was browsing on Reddit the other day and I noticed a post that had gained quite a lot of traction, due to the recent NSFW content ban on Tumblr. Basically, someone had made a new website that was similar to Tumblr and decided to do an AMA on Reddit. You can already guess that he must have gained a lot of new members after he did that AMA.
This got me thinking, why can't we do something similar to promote high-quality Steem-based dapps? I mean, if such a post becomes popular, we could end up with thousand of new users in a day.
We already have the Steem and Steemit subreddits, but let's be frank. Those aren't doing too great at the moment. It might be better to post about Steem on other subreddits that are a bit more popular.
What would happen if the people behind Steem Monsters did an AMA? Or what if regular dapp users started sharing stories about their favourite Steem dapps on reddit? In a way that doesn't come across as spammy of course...
Some people are already doing their best by promoting Steem on other platforms, but frankly, it isn't enough. A couple of tweets here and there isn't going to cut it. We need an ongoing effort by a big part of the community and we need to start promoting Steemit on every platform and Reddit is a very good way for bringing new users to the Steem platform.
I think that whoever does it first is going to need some thick skin. There are a lot of haters out there for things that aren't proof of work. I think it would be really cool to see some stuff like that out there. Partiko could have gained a lot of followers by announcing themselves as an alternative in Reddit. I think the idea of an AMA with the Steem Monsters group is an awesome idea!
Well, I wouldn't recommend promoting on a cryptocurrency-related subreddit. More on something general, like Gaming or AMA. It's just that Steem needs this sort of promotion if we want to avoid dropping even further on Coinmarketcap :P
Yeah, those are good points and I hear you. I am a little concerned that Steem isn't recovering as quickly as BTC is right now. I hope that doesn't continue to be the long term trend.

Reddit would be an awesome choice! There is a lot of promoting of Steem on Steem... which isn't that useful... but Reddit has a huge huge huge userbase compared to what we have here, so even picking up a few eyeballs would be a great boost!
