[Steem Goals] My First 1000 Steem
End of last week I reached my first 1000 Steem. My next goal will be 10000 Steem. Steem is a great crypto currency with a proven product that works, Steemit.
I joined Steemit in June 2017 after seeing @jerrybanfield promoting it. I have been in Bitcoin for a while, but had no interest in any other altcoin. Steem had something that other altcoin did not offer. A product that I understand and currently working namely, blogging.
In the beginning I thought it will be easy to earn Steem on Steemit, but it was slow and I did not earn much. I then realised that the only way to make Steem on Steemit is to increase my stake in Steemit by investing more into Steem. I slowly added more Steem by converting Bitcoin into Steem. This bitcoin was earned from mining bitcoin on Genesis Mining.
I have converted Rands into Steem too. I buy Bitcoin at Localbitcoins.com and then buy Steem from my Steemit wallet via Blocktrades. Lately I have been using Luno.com. They have made it super easy for South Africans to convert Rands to Bitcoin. The exchange rates are better on Luno than Localbitcoins too. When there are wild fluctuations in price, Luno will adjust fast and Localbitcoins will take long. So if the price goes down 10%, the price on Localbitcoin will take 12 hours to adjust.
So how will I get to 10000 Steem?
I have tried a couple of things on Steemit so far. Blogging is the corner stone of everything and I try to blog every day. Buying upvotes for my blog posts has been disappointing. Initially I thought that this will be the best way to build and increase my steem. I soon realised that buying an upvote will cost $1 and I will get an upvote of say $0.90 to $1.15. After 7 days 25% of this will go to curation rewards leaving you with even less Steem.
The only upvote that gives me a positive return is @minnowbooster. Currently you can buy 3 x $5 upvotes per week. I make a positive return of about $1 per post and after curation rewards. So that is $3 per week. It is unfortunate that this service cannot be scaled.
Last week I did my first delegation of Steem Power. Only 150 SP to test the service. This offers 24% APR. So that is 2% per month. This is net profit and there is no curation reward. Best of all, this can be scaled as long as there are people looking to lease Steem Power. The return is paid every day to your Steemit wallet and your investment is save. You are not handing over any Steem. The steem is still in your control. You are not handing over any money.
@bellyrubbank offers 45% APR on a fixed deposit for 3 months. This is 3.75% per month. This is the best return of the above. What I don’t like is the you get paid once a month and the deposit is paid after 3 months.

okk, you have plan as me. but little different. When I buy a upvote I try buy it within 30 min {mostly 5 min} within submitted a post. Because within 30 min 25% curation reward goes to author of post. and get full benefit of upvote.
Very interesting strategy @hrsagar. It is difficult to calculate the absolute best time. Each person has their own one.

Very good pst my strategy is to buy 5 sbd with minnowbooster and put it the first 3 minutes of placing my post. So I will not enter 30 CURE
I always buy my upvotes on day 6. This way my post does not have that much time to go down in value.
Congratulations on reaching your first goal, I am still working on getting myself up to 1000 steem, but hopefully i will get there soon. I follow @papa-pepper, the guy is awesome, and he is always willing to help out minnows that are starting off with steemit.

That's very true Colin, I just recently hit 1000+ followers and I realized that the only way for us minnows to survive is to stick together and support each other along our journey.
