Knowing Who you are On Steemit. The Steemit Classification.

Two days ago, I wrote a post on how steemit works. Then, I made a mistake of calling myself a minnow which I was humbly corrected for. Since then, I’ve started a research on the level classifications of steemians and how it’s measured. I was lucky enough to get that right.

During my research, I discovered there are actually six classes of steemians. These classes are loosely based on the amount of steem power you hold.

Check the red highlighted portion of the picture below to better understand what I am saying.

Now to know the classes you belong to, I would just lay down the classification chart and give you the formula to use to get the value you need to trace your class. These values are called vests.

This is how you calculate it (You can use either of the methods below):

Method 1:
Divide your Steem Power by 487.153, then divide it again by 1,000,000.
Vests = Steem Power/ 487.153 /1,000,000

Method 2:
Divide your Steem Power by 0.000487153
Vests = Steem Power/ 0.000487153.

Below is a calculation of mine using either methods:
Method 1:
11.671 / 487.153 = 0.0239575656929137
0.0239575656929137 / 1000 = 24.104 vests

Method 2:
11.671 / 0.000487153 = 24.104 vests

Now that you know your vests, here is the chart:

1. Dead Fish (Inactive User)
2. Red Fish ( 0 - 999,999 vests)
3. Minnow (1 million vests - 9,999,999 vests)
4. Dolphin (10 million vests - 99,999,999 vests)
5. Orca (100 million vests - 999,999,999 vests)
6. Whale (1 billion vests and above)

So I traced mine and like most, I fall in the red fish section with a vests of 24.104. So, I am still a red fish.

So calculate yours and tell us who you are.
