I FEAR FIJI
Wales find themselves in the same pool as both Australia and Fiji, and while Australia "on paper" are the biggest threat, and most likely to win the group. Fiji could, as they did in tge 2007 RWC beat Wales and dump us out of the world Cup.
You can plan and build a game plan to beat Australia. They have structure, they have a way of playing, you know what they will come at you with.
Fiji, on the other hand are completely unpredictable! You've got backs as big as forwards and forwards as fast as backs... When playing Fiji you've got to hope they don't play too Fijian enough!
Unfortunately for Fiji, I do think that Australia and Wales have too much structure and will find a way to keep Fiji quiet. Long kicks to corners and making Fiji rely on "set-piece" moves (lineouts/scrums) will remove the threat they possess in open play. If you can't physically outplay them, you've got to mentally outplay them. Expect to see some firearms from this very talented Fijian team, but expect them to tire towards the end and see the other top tier teams pulling away.
I'm afraid it's a 3rd place finish I the group for them, but they will definitely win some accolades and new supporters through their style of play.

I love watching those teams play. It's so uncontrolled and interesting compared to the Europeans that are all structure and conditioning.
When it all goes right, it's definitely thrilling and entertaining. Unfortunately in the 15 man version, a little structure goes a long way. When it cones to 7's however - fast, furious and off-the-cuff is definitely the way to go. Which is why Fiji have dominated the 7s circuit fir decades. They've just never been able to transfer that success into the 15 aside version.
