Zona asiática de Estambul
Si pensamos en planear un viaje turístico a Estambul, la ciudad se podría dividir en 3 áreas principales, dos de las cuales están en Europa y una en Ásia. La primera sería el "distrito turístico" atestado de turístas, con la zona de Sultanameth como principal reclamo.
Que haya muchos turístas no es necesariamente algo negativo. De hecho si hay muchos turístas es porqué el atractivo turístico de la zona es increible.
La segunda parte del lado europeo que más nos interesa a los turístas es probablemente el también concurrido distrito comercial y de negocios. Sería la zona más cosmopolita de la ciudad y su cara más moderna. Aquí podemos hacer compras y comer en todo tipo de restaurantes.
Y después... está el lado asiático
Este lado es muy local y los turistas rara vez se aventuran en él, lo cual sólo se explica por la cantidad de sitios a visitar que tiene la zona europea y por la mejor conexión con el exterior de esta. Pero en realidad la zona asiática está bastante cerca y es facilmente accesible.
Vistas "desde el otro lado del Bósforo"
El primer motivo para visitar el lado asiático es el camino en sí. Muy metafórico, lo sé, pero no por ello menos cierto. La opción que nosotros escogimos fue ir en ferry y volver con el Marmaray. Una opción muy económica y que añade interés a la visita.
Es decir:
En primer lugar, la ida en ferry, que permite disfrutar de unas vistas muy hermosas del lado europeo de Estambul.
No os preocupeis por mi... ya he tirado esa chaqueta!
Y la vuelta en Marmaray
Inaugurado en 2013, el Marmaray es un túnel ferroviario submarino de 1.8 kilómetros, sumergido 55 metros bajo el nivel del mar y que cruza el estrecho del Bósforo. ¿Increible!
Üsküdar
Üsküdar es la ciudad principal después de bajarse del ferry y tambien la principal parada del Marmaray. A este lado del Bósforo* las tiendas y los servicios no son para los turistas, son para locales. Un Estambul menos turísitco y quizá más "real". Es, en otras muchas posibilidades, una buena oportunidad para probar la comida local y comprar todo tipo de recuerdos a precios más económicos.

La mezquita Yeni Valide
La mezquita Yeni Valide (En turco: Yeni Valide Camii) es una mezquita otomana situada en el distrito de Üsküdar, en la ciudad de Estambul.
Construida a principios del siglo XVII , se ha conservado de forma mágica, como congelada en el tiempo. Visitarla provoca una sensación muy diferente a la de visitar las mezquitas de la zona europea. La mezquita tiene dos minaretes con dos balcones cada uno y merece mucho la pena visitar su interior.
Si se dispone de tiempo una idea genial es pasar un par de dias en el lado asiático de Estambul. Será una experiencia única lejos de los circuitos más turísticos.
Para quién NO Üsküdar y la zona asiática de Estambul
Si te encantan los viajes en grupo y las vacaciones organizadas la zona que más disfrutarás es sin duda la "zona europea" de la ciudad. En la zona de Sultanameth podrás visitar el gran Bazar entre otras atraccioines turísticas interesantísimas y en el "distrito financiero" podrás relajarte en todo tipo de cafés y restaurantes; o incluso gastarte dinero en tiendas de lujo. Te sentirás exactamente como lo harías en una cualquier otra gran ciudad europea.
Para quién es Üsküdar y la zona asiática de Estambul.
Si le gusta experimentar algo más que solo las principales atracciones turísticas y también conectarse con la cultura local, te encantará Üsküdar.
En todo caso, recuerda que lo más importante en un viaje no suele ser ¿dónde?... si no ¿con quién?

Asian Zone of Istanbul
If we are planning a tourist trip to Istanbul, the city could be divided into 3 main areas, two of which are in Europe and one in Asia. The first would be the "touristic district" crowded with tourists, with the Sultanameth area as the main attraction.
The fact that the area is crowded with tourists is not necessarily a negative thing. In fact, if there are many tourists it is because the area is full of spectacular places to visit.
The second part of the European side that interests us most is probably the “financial district”. It would be the most cosmopolitan area of the city and its most modern face. Here we can shop and eat in all kinds of restaurants.
And then ... there is the Asian side
This side is very local and tourists rarely venture into it, which can only be explained by the number of places to visit that the European area has and by its better connection with the outsid. But in reality the Asian area is quite close and is easily accessible part of the city.

The first reason to visit the Asian side is the path itself. Very metaphorical, I know, but no less true. The option we chose was to go by ferry and return with the Marmaray. A very economical option that adds interest to the visit.
That is to say:
First we took a ferry , which allows us to enjoy some very beautiful views of the European side of Istanbul.

Üsküdar
Üsküdar is the main district after getting off the ferry and also the main stop of Marmaray. On this side of the Bosphorus* the shops and services are not for tourists, they are for locals. A less touristy Istanbul and perhaps also a more "real" one. It is a good opportunity to taste local food and buy all kinds of souvenirs at cheaper prices.

The Yeni Valide mosque
The Yeni Valide Mosque (In Turkish: Yeni Valide Camii) is an Ottoman mosque located in the Üsküdar district, in the city of Istanbul.
Built in the early seventeenth century, it has been preserved in a magical way, as frozen in time. Visiting it causes a sensation very different from visiting mosques in the European zone. The mosque has two minarets with two balconies each and is worth visiting inside.
If you have enough time, a great idea is to spend a couple of days on the Asian side of Istanbul. It will be a unique experience away from the tourist circuits.
Who Üsküdar and the Asian zone of Istanbul is NOT for:
If you love group travel and organized holidays, the area you will most enjoy is undoubtedly the "European zone" of the city. In the area of Sultanameth you can visit the Grand Bazar among other interesting tourist atraccions and in the "financial district" you can relax in all kinds of cafes and restaurants, or even spend money in luxury stores, you will feel exactly as you would in any other large European city.
Who Üsküdar and the Asian zone of Istanbul is for
If you like to experience more than just the main tourist attractions and also connect with the local culture, you will love Üsküdar.
In any case, remember that the most important thing in a trip is not usually where? ... if not, with whom?

La magnitud y diversidad que ofrece esta ciudad indudablemente va asociada a la larga e interesante historia que la envuelve, desde sus antiguos nombres de Bizancio y Constantinopla, pasando por ser capital del imperio romano y del imperio otomano, hasta su esplèndido valor artìstico que junto a su ubicaciòn en el Bòsforo, la lleva a ser una de las ciudades màs bellas del mundo, tal y como se aprecia en tus recorridos.
Ya el solo hecho de saber que estàs visitando una ciudad transcontinental, que son muy pocas en el mundo, genera una emociòn tremenda y luego le sumas el hecho de que tienes que cruzar ese estrecho de Estambul, para poder llegar al otro continente, lo hace todavìa màs interesante y lo màs llamativo, tal y como lo recojo, de tu descripciòn, es que al cambiar de continente estando dentro de la misma ciudad, se genera un cambio dràstico en las costumbres y tradiciones; pues yo la llamarìa la ciudad del alto contraste que se mueve entre el bullicio y la modernidad, tal como lo muestra el Marmaray, y la tranquilidad y espiritualidad que proviene de sus raìces, de su historia y de su gente.
