The new research is presented in a recently accepted document for publication in the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.

“Monster” planet discovery challenges formation theory…

The existence of the planet “monster”, NGTS-1b, defies the theories of planetary formation that affirm that a planet of this size couldn’t be formed around such a small star. According to these theories, small stars can easily form rocky planets, but don’t gather enough material to form planets the size of Jupiter.

The Next-Generation Transit Survey (or "NGTS") that uses a series of 12 telescopes to travel the sky. The researchers made their discovery by continuously monitoring patches of the night sky for many months, and detecting the red light of the star with innovative red-sensitive cameras.

Using this data, they tracked the planet's orbit and calculated the size, position and mass of NGTS-1b by measuring the radial velocity of the star. In fact, this method, which measures how much the stars wobble due to the gravitational pull of the planet, was the best way to measure the size of NGTS-1b

NGTS-1b is a gas giant the size of Jupiter that orbits a star about half the size of our sun.

It is located 600 light years from us. And according to this study, its temperature is approximately 530 degrees Celsius.

Quote:

"The discovery of NGTS-1b was a complete surprise to us - such massive planets were not thought to exist around such small stars. This is the first exoplanet we have found with our new NGTS facility and we are already challenging the received wisdom of how planets form.
“Our challenge is to now find out how common these types of planets are in the Galaxy, and with the new NGTS facility we are well-placed to do just that.”

Dr Daniel Bayliss, the lead author of the research..

Considering that the star that orbits NGTS-1b is a red M-dwarf , the most common type of star in the universe is likely to find more in the future.

Quote:

“NGTS-1b was difficult to find, despite being a monster of a planet, because its parent star is small and faint. Small stars are actually the most common in the universe, so it is possible that there are many of these giant planets waiting to found.

Professor Peter Wheatley, who is from the University of Warwick and leads NGTS.

With this study and those that will be done in the future thanks to the use of NTGS we can have a deeper knowledge of the formation of planets.

And what yesterday seemed impossible in regard to the formation of planets tomorrow will seem common..

Another mystery of the universe …

Let's take care of the pale blue dot

Maybe it was a result of two systems colliding.

It's possible. In a few months we will begin to know.
More red dwarf stars are being studied. When they begin to publish the studies we will see if it is an isolated case resulting from two solar systems that collided and this "huge" planet is trapped in the orbit or if on the contrary we must begin to modify the theories of formation of the planets.

Most likely, their theories are all wrong.

Lol.
Not all. Some are still supported. Anyway, science is like that, it evolves as new discoveries are made. After they are accepted by the majority. And with technological advances access to other more accurate results.

What do you think about this?
Omg..
Do you think any human supervises this?
What a shame...
It is possible that I made the mistake of using quite long quotes or the photos may be the problem ...
Idk..
Since this post is already voted negatively I will do a bit of conspiracy.
Could it be that this post has been negatively voted because another steemian writer wrote an article on the same topic the same day as me?
This should not be a problem, the other post is $ 44 and mine is just $ 4.
And I have screenshot that I posted at least two hours before my post....

Ouch.

Just remember to use the blockquote tag and a source link within that tag. But, that does seem odd that you would be voted down like this.

I have talked with @Patrice at Discord and everything is ok.
She is very friendly and recommended a markdown guide.

This goes back to a discussion I had with someone about creating an app that would provide resources to people who needed help with their articles.

Basically, you would create your article, but before submitting it, the resource would review it and modify it so it presented better and was grammatically correct. Then if the you approved, you would pay the resource and then the article would be published.

This can be interesting for professionals in the blog world.

Heck, I'd do it for you for $1 SBD per article. ;)

We'd just have to figure out a way to share the Draft, since the app that I mentioned doesn't exist. Could use Google Docs.

Thank you, Dean. I appreciate it a lot.
But this is already a personal issue. Also a couple of weeks ago I decided to invest in promoting the post. And when I get some extra SBD I try to buy steem.
Hopefully we can do it in the future. :)
