LEGO - Nasa Apollo Saturn V - Building the epic 1969 piece set!
This week had the privilege to get my hands on one of the most epic Lego sets ever designed, set #21309. The set is an approximately 1:110 scale model of the Saturn V rocket which is the most powerful rocket to have flown successfully in a space programme.
The set is an epic, surprisingly sturdy and sophisticated build with a whopping 1969 pieces, which happen to also be the year that the first man walked on the moon. The set was first designed and submitted by Felix Stiessen as a Lego Ideas MOC and then redesigned and commercialized by three Lego Designers: Charl Thomas Merrian, Michael Psaiki and Austin William Carlson.
The set is also Legos tallest Ideas set at a full 1m high! Check out the photos of the build. I build it in three sessions to extend the pleasure. I build the first stage of the rocket on my own and then brought in my children for some help... enjoy!

Wow, amazing set, I would so much like to have it!
That was so much fun to build! Treat yourself for Christmas. ;)
Errr... already treat myself with new Garmin and power meter for bicycle... and amazingly, my old heart bit belt was unable to connect... so I added new one to Santa's list... and while doing that I noticed that some trekking shoes are on sale... you got the picture :))
