“So God created humankind in his image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.” - Genesis 1:27-28.

The concept of sustainability is that our attempt to better lives today, it should not be at the detriment of the future. Thus sustainable development implies meeting the needs of the present without compromising the well-being of future generations.

God, the creator of heaven and earth was conscious of sustainability even during creation. God did not just make man in His image to serve that initial moment, rather , that man would administer the earth with everything in it. God designed creation for increase and multiplication and this was the reason he kept man in the place of tending, dressing and keeping so that all of God's creation that was "Very Good" will stand the taste of time.

The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it. - Genesis 2:15 ESV

The problem of man began that moment man felt he could not stick to the orderly arrangements of God. So as we see today, our environment get destroyed, natural resources get depleted because man feels he should not follow God's natural way of doing things. Man seems to be so impatient not to takeout time and energy to DRESS and KEEP the earth which the Lord gave us.

Having entered the realm of regeneration through Christ, it is incumbent on us to rise and be conscious of the lifestyle that God gave us in the beginning. A sustainable life is a life that gives room for no wastage. Even Jesus Christ exampled this in feeding the 5,000 that the blessings of God need not be a waste. The disciples were instructed to gather the fragments and lo, 12 baskets were recovered.

Beyond the physical blessings, the essence of Christ raising disciples was so that the word of God will be sustained on earth so as to purity all that will come to hear and accept. Jesus would have taken his disciples back, but no, he equipped them to take on and transfer the life and work into the hands of other FAITHFUL men who will also transfer to others.

As we embark on projects that will be powered by @Steemchurch and Steemchurch Telos Community, may we we committed to SUSTAINABLE PROJECTS.

A sustainable project design is such that is conscious of these three areas and their intersections as shown above:

• the environment
• the economic.
• Social interactions.

1. Environmental Demands

To us believers, we need to understand that we remain in this world to show JESUS to the world. May we be conscious of this fact that our projects and deeds must not pollute the world, rather add value and virtue. The praises of God must be shown through our projects.

2. Economic Demands

As we have been informed of the Beatitudes, our projects should come with "BLESSEDNESS". Our projects should leave the people better than we met them spiritually and otherwise. This Jesus had exampled in His ministry, he touched lives all-round- spiritual, material, etc.

3. Social Demands

Our projects should promote unity in the body of Christ. The social interactions between parishioners, our parishes and other Christians should be enhanced by our choice projects.
