Quest post: Defending the goblins at Gob camp (part two)

the colonists run down to the main gate..the undead horde is approaching. @cyber.explorer its standing ready whit his hammer..the undeads are slow. Paige is shouting down at him take the balista.
the go goblind crew sems confused this big man is ordering them of there post. ha has a large iron hammer. they move @cyber.explorer ses one oger approaching its big and ugly. he take aim. and loose the large iron bolt making a whoooosssss sound in the air. it hits the oger flush..@cyber.explorer is reloading the balista. and fire a second bolt. the oger is staggering now..it has two bolts in his chest. easy going true his chest armor. @methus ses his chance to the take it out but he misses hes second fire ball is thinning out there numbers.

@stever82 carfuly arrow kills the wounded ogre, @happyme we need to focus the undead archer
he start shoting at one of them wounded him. gob is sending a lightning bolt at him killing him, and wounded a second archer then he manage to put his berserk spell on one of the ogers. Paige and big jake is joing in the rain of arrows. killing the undead before they can even move. most of the undead archer are dead. Fizzle ses one he is wounded but still dangerous. hi is sinking closer. he is in range in the forest. trowing his spear. killing him. then diseparing in the trees.
the undeads are moving farvard two undead its hitting the gate. the two remaining archer shooting at @methus and @happyme. they are missing the wizard but @happyme is not so lucky but his strong armor take the hits. @creativetruth its stading ready in side the gate in case it brakes he is cheer on the friends. with a song

.over at the back gate is the they killed a few of the undeads. the gate is safe for now. the undeads are slow. the goblins are not worry. but more undeads are coming out of the mine. even more ogres. the panic starts spreading in the golinds at the gate..they are to few. here..its going to fall..

Paige will continue her assault on the archers, shifting to the space G1.

Because it is further away, this one was tougher to hit. She put 1/3 arrows into the enemy for 3 damage, leaving it with 6 damage until dead (4 life 2 armor). Practically screaming to AIM A BALLISTA AT ME!!! ;p

She takes aim and fires, continuing to enjoy the benefits of her eye of accuracy!

The first rounds of attacks here went well and now I see another archer killed and another one hit I think about aiming at the hurt one but I hear sounds from the back. They need help so I run to the ballista and take aim at the Orge on i7 and I fire @rolld20

That bolt hits home also and I am glad I came to join the goblins here they seem a little calmer now that I have joined them.

OOC update I hit the Orge with both shots 16 damage for sure 20 if my ale helps. So finish him if you can.

hmmm....no it dont. but good question..

Let's see if I can finish off the wounded archer at J3 with my bow.

SUMMARY: Killed the wounded archer at J3 and missed my next 2 shots at an ogre.

All these undead have really got me unnerved. I just can't seem to shoot straight these days! I've got to find a way to calm my nerves and damage more undead. I stop to take a few deep breaths of air, concentrating on nothing other than my breathing. Hopefully this will help my next round of arrows!

OOC: Are the balistas manned by the goblins, or do we need to assign someone to operate them?
I was under the impression the balistas took 2 shots on their own, so manning a balista just wastes our turns with our own weapons. GM please clarify. Thanks!

@happyme yes it was should be to be shooting by ther own. but cyber.explorer did not have a ranged weapon so ecoinstant suggested to cyber.explorer to use the bailsta in his turn. and its not a bad ide. so now they can but if noone is using them they will fire. using there own crew.

Thank-you for the clarification. I understand someone without a ranged weapon using a balista to give them something to do, however if a person who has a ranged weapon uses it, then it is essentially a waste of a turn. Good to know !

That actually brings up another question: Since we get 3 actions per turn, can we increase the number of shots taken with the balista by manning it since the balista on its own gets just 2 shots?

the balista can only shoot two times. regardless. the player has one left. to move or..use his own wepone to attack.

OOC: That actually makes a lot of sense. Good call. I hope the others are paying attention to this thread.

A suggestion, what if we open the gate a little bit, and as they filter in we smash them one by one.

it take one action. to open and close. :)

I volunteered to open the door a bit if everybody else agrees.

I will stand behind the door to hold it in position and smash whatever comes my way!

Our Archers and ballista should take care of the ogres and Undead arches.

...and maybe one of our strongest fighters can help reinforce the rear gate!

I don't know about opening it 'a little bit' . If you don't close it, they will all come in. Why don't we shoot them from up here on this nice wall?

@creativetruth unable to take action calls out some battle commands to his ranged allies (@happyme, @stever82, @ecoinstant, @methus).

There are undead archers assaulting our allies near the back wall. We might want to take them out as soon as possible before the Ogres get through the walls.

In the future, might want to offer the ballista shots to our idle allies behind the wall who do not have a ranged weapon. Otherwise they cannot offer any offensive help until the our defensive wall is broken. If we throw enough firepower at the enemy, maybe we can keep the walls supported.

@creativetruth thinks he might make a good bard some day. Let's see if his charismatic words inspires any heroic deeds in this battle.

Edit: He clears his through to clarify his words which might be mistaken...

... I mean, take out the undead... not the goblin allies. Slip of the tongue. However, if the undead turn the goblins into zombies, then be my guest... kill any undead goblins too.
