I'm talking about Initiative Q

Initiative Q is an attempt by ex-PayPal guys to create a new payment system instead of credit cards that were designed in the 1950s. The system uses its own currency, the Q, and to get people to start using the system once it's ready they are allocating Qs for free to people that sign up now (the amount drops as more people join - so better to join early). I decided to signup after reading @real-papa-peppers post about Q. I can't see how it can hurt, you only need to provide an email address and a password. If it turns out to be nothing oh well then I might have some more spam in my inbox to deal with.

At first glance it resembles a pyramid scheme since they offer more Q tokens to me if I can get five other people to signup. On the other hand they only allow me to bring 5 people on (for a limited time) and I don't get any recurring benefits from those I on-board (only the one time ).
