Also, the Nag Hammadi texts hold a lot of lost scripture. The gospel of Thomas is particularly revealing concerning Jesus's way with words.
Jesus said, "Those who seek should not stop seeking until they find. When they find, they will be disturbed. When they are disturbed, they will marvel, and will reign over all. [And after they have reigned they will rest.]"

Exploring the roots and truth in Christianity can be a rewarding and enlightening experience. We often find some of the most succulent and delicate fruits have been hidden or otherwise distorted.

These are just gnostics theories AFAIK and it's definitely not scriptural.
The gospel of Thomas is canonical in some Christian churches. Futhermore, Christianity's roots seem to be in Gnosticism...
Christian gnosticism came during the end of 1st century and later and was not part of the original gospel - as Paul preached it. It came to corrupt it and a main result was strong influence in Roman Catholic Church and some other christian sects.
