Qurator Tiers and Upvote Weights Update - 14/11/2017 - Big change to our upvote tiers
Welcome to the Qurator Tiers update!
As a member of @qurator we already know you post original content and we fully support original quality content, especially from minnows. We send out daily upvotes to all our Qurites if they post, but if they show some participation or invest in @qurator we feel they deserve some better rewards from @qurator. That's where Tiers come in. Below you will find all the members of @qurator and their respective tiers.
NOTE:The Upvote Tiers ( 1 and 2) are counted each Sunday and if you failed to upvote before our count your Tier might be lower than expected.
Upvote Tiers
In the past we said that T1 and T2 members need to upvote the Daily Qurator post to gain access to T1/T2. We have now changed this to all @qurator posts. Thus, if you upvote 7+ of any @qurator posts in one week you will gain access to T2 voting. For automated voting we suggest using Steemvoter
The 1% supporters/upvoters...
It has come to our attention that some users are taking advantage of the Upvote Tiers. The original rules were:

This was mainly put in play to give Qurator more support towards earning SBD for leases. All SBD we earn go towards our members with leases or payouts for competitions. There have been some members that do upvote our daily posts but by only 1%... this is not support though. We understand that every member has a different amount of SP though. Thus, starting this week we will counting upvotes only if they are worth at least $0.01.
We know some members don't have a lot of SP and even their 100% upvote is not worth $0.01. We will still count your vote if we see a 100% vote even if it's below $0.01.
Below your can see examples of upvotes that will and will not count towards the Tiers:
1% = $0.00 will not be counted
100% = $0.00 will be counted
Any % = at least $0.01 will be counted
I know this might not sit right with some Qurites but the Qurator project cannot support all the Tiers if some users show us support with $0.00 upvotes while they can clearly support the project and all members with a higher upvote. We are not asking for your 100% upvote. We just think it fair that we support the users who actually support us.
To all the members who have been supporting the Qurator project with your upvotes, we and the fellow Qurites really appreciate you support. We give back all SBD we get and the Qurator project is a team effort. We are not a whale and don't have the Steem Power to support 300+ members. We rely on leases and we can only lease with the support we get from our Qurites. Be a team player, it benefits you and all members of Qurator.
Changes to Tier 0 upvote weights.
It has come to our attention that there are a lot of members that registered with Qurator, but that are not actively supporting the project's growth. This is not a necessity but is always much appreciated. We tend to give more support to those who return the favor.
Supporting Qurator with Upvotes/Delegation means you are supporting all the members within Qurator. We use all funds to grow the @qurator account. Thus, all who helps out with the growth of Qurator is helping out with the support towards the Qurator Community.
T0 Members are not really active and we respect their choices. We are not forcing anyone to Upvote/Delegate. We just feel it is more fair towards supporters to get more rewards as a token of our appreciation for helping out the Qurator project. It's a group effort.
Tier 0 upvote weights have been decreased by 66%.
This way we can award the T1-5 members more since they are actively supporting the project.
If you want to support Qurator more we suggest delegating or upvoting our Daily Qurator posts. This can be automated with Steemvoter (guide to set up a Steemvoter account HERE.

What if I upvote and delegate?
Yes delegations and upvotes stack.
Example: Delegating 300SP and upvoting the Daily Qurator 7+ time a week will place you in a T5 membership slot.
Current Tiers with their Upvote Weight and Upvote Worth
We currently have 33 461 SP (up 2935 SP from last week).

Upvote weights have been decreased quite a lot to accommodate all members. The worth of the weights will go up again later this week when we fill our new leases.

Note: Tier 0 members could earn a lot more by showing @qurator support by upvoting the Daily Qurator. Have a look at Tier 2 weights compared to T0. That's almost triple the Upvote Worth.

Thank you for standing with us. We hate bringing bad news but it is an issue we need to sort out. Can't have some users getting into T2 by gaming the system...

At the same time I do think that this indicates that there is room for further refining this aspect. :c)
After all, calculating one's vote to me $0.01c sounds pretty gamey to me. I would suggest at least checking to see what vote amount would be necessary at Tier 2 to not stifle Qurator's vote-power sustainability.
Of course, I know that you are always tweaking and revisiting in the background - so this perhaps needn't have been said.
I just updated steamvoter to include @qurator, 100% upvote at 29 minutes. Should be around ~.15 or so.

Hi there @qurator, I have just learned about qurator, and have been spending a little bit of time going through some of the latest posts and understanding how the whole system works. I think this post right here is what finally spurred me to leave this comment and join @qurator.
The system you guys are implementing :
Though clearly not based in mathematical sense, is based on the intent to lift minnows up, and that is something I definitely can get behind. Will be signing up and jumping to tier 2 immediately.

Yes, the math behind it is not to let the minnows who has a $0.00 100% weight be excluded from the tiers. They are indeed the ones needing the most support. We just had to implement the rule since many users with loads of Steem Power and Voting power was showing "support" by a 1% upvote worth nothing. Thus just upvoting to show that they upvoted. The whole Qurator model is based on support we get from the community. The more support we get, the more support we can give. =)

Depending on what Tier you want to be in and if you are already upvoting you can send the steem directly to @qurator with your Tier in the memo. =)
