My question about inferiority complex to the community.

Introduction

Sometimes in our life there are times when we feel really low, with a lack of energy, and an abundance of negativity in the way we think. Experiencing these periods should not alarm us, because at the end of the day, we are emotional beings, and it is completely normal for our emotions to change based on the circumstances we are going through. Nevertheless, some people can be very affected by these periods of negativity, up to the point their self esteem is shattered.

One of the most obvious symptoms that we are going through a period of deep vulnerability in our self esteem is that we compare ourselves relatively frequently with others. And, in addition, this comparison acquires a negative result for those who put themselves in an inferior position. This attitude produces pain for those who feel less important than others in any situation in life, and might even develop what is know as an inferiority complex.

Have you ever experienced something similar to this complex?

@therealwolf 's created platform smartsteem scammed my post this morning (mothersday) that was supposed to be for an Abused Childrens Charity. Dude literally stole from abused children that don't have mothers ... on mothersday.

If only we can have a dial that we can use to change how we act and react to certain situations.

I suffer from both depression and an inferiority complex born of circumstances. I know what caused it and have talked to professionals and tried my best to get over it.

oh if only we had a magic button.

I suffer from both depression and an inferiority complex

Mate I am sorry you have to suffer from these type of issues, and it is a little bit surprising given your good sense of humor (I read your "moderator problems" article ^^).

I hope steem friendships can be of help.

Cheers bud!

are you everywhere? :)

Since it is a problem of perception regarding one’s capacity and one’s skills

This is not quite right... though logically correct, it misleads... (i feel it is only because of assumptions of english)

Like, perfectionism doesn't drive one towards becoming perfect, the goal post is moved with each improvement. Perfectionism is a never ending treadmill of being imperfect, which usually translates to you not being good enough to be in the company of others.

So, to the inferior feeling people, the comparison always falls short.
But to remove the comparison is to remove the entire basis of their lives.

I find two things important. Finding out, in a factual, measurable way, how good you are at your tasks.

And then understanding that friendships rarely happen because of "good enough". They happen just because the person likes you, for some strange undefinable reason.

And then, there is the "people pleaser syndrome", where we feel that people like us for the things we do for them, and so pleasing them is the basis for the friendship. However, this is a control and manipulation thing. Or, we are trying to "buy" their friendship. So that we won't be alone.

It is a terrible, self reinforcing trap.

Finding out, in a factual, measurable way, how good you are at your tasks.

Agree, if people realize that they are good at what they do, it will be a clear proof of their worth

And then, there is the "people pleaser syndrome", where we feel that people like us for the things we do for them, and so pleasing them is the basis for the friendship

Those friendships are't meant to last long for obvious reasons.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts mate!

Subconscious mind can be condition to the positive side. Life is a choice. Always choose the positive side.

Hey there mate! Long time no see!

Glad to have you back on Steem!

Hey @dedicatedguy !

Great article again! I am really glad that you made a post about this topic. What it lacks to be honest is more psychoanalytical explanations of the complex. After all, it's "roots" are related to these theories.

Hello @dysfunctional ! Thanks for your advise! I think you are right, will keep that in mind!

Cheers!

Cheers, my friend! Looking forward to more content from you!

Good topic. I think I definitely have bouts of this at times. Maybe more often than not...

Yes, I have experienced this, too, stemming from situations in childhood as well as one abusive marriage. Coupled with anxiety issues, it is something I battle daily. The excellent observation stated in your conclusion that "people suffering from this complex could realize that beyond appearances, every human being has fears, insecurities, hopes, strengths and struggles" is something well worth remembering. Thank you for sharing this encouragement with #steemitbloggers 😊

I am very glad you found this useful @thekittygirl!
