Promoting Steemit is something that I do effortlessly. I don't have to struggle to promoting Steemit, it comes naturally. Actually I have to put in effort to exercise self control and not promote it too much so that people don't call me crazy. I love marketing. I love promoting valuable and profitable ventures. And one problem with marketing is that if you push a product too much people will start thinking that you have ulterior motives. Something like a referral bonus or something, or that the product requires a ton of effort to sell. If a product requires too much effort to sell, it means that it is probably not good. Good products speak for themselves it's quite easy to promote them.

Facebook Fasting

There was a time i decided to do a facebook fast. I decided that for one week I would not promote Steemit on facebook. I decided to abandon my account for this period. It didn't work out well. I just couldn't do it.
There is a saying, : when you find something good, you just have to tell someone about it. If I kept Steemit to myself, then it would be such a shame. I wouldn't be able to live with myself.

Steemit does not need too much advertisement like I said. A good product will sell itself. I believe that, although the platform is built on the principle of no fees, people will pay to use Steemit because of the kind of services it offers. I believe that somewhere in the future people will join Steemit because of the value that it provides, because of the things that they can do with it and not just because of the money that they can make. #notjustmoneytalks.

Incentive to Promote Steemit? Yikes!

Hitherto, there has been very little incentive to promote Steemit, there is no referral bonus. I have had to sacrifice a lot of time and energy and sometimes money in tutoring the people that I invited to Steemit. The only incentive I had until now is the sense of fulfillment when the people I invited expressed their gratitude. But that is when they discover Steemit for themselves and finally see the potential of this place.

Project20millionNaija

Right now there is a social media campaign (#project20millionnaija) where Steemians share the above poster on social media and get rewarded for doing so by @stach/@ejemai. I get rewarded for doing what I do on a daily basis. Hahahahaha...
It doesn't get better than this!!
Special thanks @ejemai for coming up with #project20millionnaija. He sent me $5 yesterday and I was in the middle of making this post and expressing my gratitude when he sent me another $3 for promoting Steemit. This is something that I already do freely and joyfully. Fantastic!!!!

The idea behind the #project20millionnaija campaign is to make a massive advertisement for Steemit in Nigeria through social media. We share the stach poster above on our various social media handle and try to engage our friends on discussions about the Steem Blockchain and Steemit.

I believe that "word of mouth" or personal recommendation is the most powerful form of advertisement and this form of promotion is fantastic. Steemit is going viral and it is still in beta. Hehehehehe...

I also want to use this medium to appreciate the guys behind the promo-steem proposal.
