In the last few weeks i have been telling my facebook friends that i am working on something incredible that will change the way social media works.

I have really been teasing these guys and i am sure that now is the time to let out the cat out today….!!

I will try as much as possible to explain this opportunity i have been telling my Facebook friends about.

Today i will be telling you about a social media site called Steemit that pays you to post and comment….yes you read that right!

What is Steemit?

Steemit is a new Social Media site just like Facebook but that pays you to post,comment and even like(upvote) on Steemit!
Steemit was established in March 2017 by two gentlemen Ned Scott @ned and Dan Larimer @dan.

Steemit Concept

Steemit is powered by the blockchain technology,take it easy!
I will explain explain what blockchain technology is below.

Blockchain is a just a distributed database(storage of data,info etc) existing on multiple computers at the same time.
It is continuously growing as a new set of records or blocks are added to it .

Each block contains a timestamp and a link to the previous block, so they actually form a chain.
The database is not managed by any particular body or person but by all people in the network with a specific key!

Okay i have heard you and its good you asked about the money as i had promised earlier!

This might be confusing a bit so keep alert to grasp more.
In Steemit we are paid in a crytocurrency called Steem or Steem Dollar.

I can hear you saying ,now what the heck is a crypto currency

I heard you clearly and let me explain what it is.
A cryptocurrency is a digital currency.

You are wondering if i have answered anything...hehehe

Let me tell you a brief history about money

I will not waste much time but show a photo i took at one of the crypto conferences i attended in September.

I do not need to add a lot,as they say an image is worth a thousand words.
May just briefly

We began with barter trade(exchange of goods)
moved to cowrie shells to coins to paper money(fiat) to plastic money(visa,master cards) and finally
to crypocurrency(digital money)

This digital money was invented/created in 2009 after the great depression of 2008.
The first cryptocurrency is called bitcoin which is making headlines at the moment as the most sought after currency.

What should i do after signing up?

You have to approve your account by checking your supplied email and phone number to avoid Spam accounts.
The approval process takes from 1 day to 7days....sometimes even a month!
In the meantime you can be reading about Steemit and learning of how everything works as you wait for your approval.

What should i do when i get approved?

You should always keep checking your email for the approval email,when you receive it.
Click on the provided link which will open up a new tab and you will be a given an auto-generated password.

You must save this password in many places preferably offline and may be online.
I always advice people to save it on Google docs and also write it in a piece of paper.

If i didn't mention,let me say it here...Steemit does not recover passwords.......you lose your password,you lose your account period.......So Backup your password please,dont say i didnt tell you..

This explanation is a bit technical but i will try to explain briefly.

• After you have accumulated the Steem Dollars from your posts,you convert that Steem Dollars to Bitcoin in an exchange.
  We have many exchanges like @blocktrades @changelly and others you will know with time.
• The converted Bitcoin can now be converted you your local currency
