The power grab known as the Equality Act

It’s time to talk about the Equality Act and the damage it can do to parent’s rights, gender specific spaces, woman’s rights, and religious liberty. I know arguing against something called the Equality Act would make me seem mean and hateful but as we have seen with previous legislation the nice name a bill is given just hides the scary power grab it really is.

Let’s start by defining what the Equality Act is and why it is a pending bill in the US Senate. According to govtrack the Equality Act will “prohibit discrimination on the basis of sex, gender identity, and sexual orientation, and for other purposes.” Based on that explanation it seems harmless enough what kind of monster wants discrimination against someone based on their sex, gender identity, and sexual orientation? But like so many other bills that work their way through our government there is much more to it than the stated purpose.

Under the Equality parents will be forced to abide by the dogma of the woke and not permitted to make decisions based on their own beliefs and convections. In a world where schools teach young and innocent children that it is cool to be transgender, we are seeing a rise of transtrenders, people thinking they are trans because of social pressure not gender dysphoria. The Equality Act will make it that any child who claims to be transgender will be allowed to move forward with their transition and if their parents try to prevent it schools and doctors will be required to report them to the authorities for child abuse. How is allowing small children to make life changing decisions that can sterilize the child for life not child abuse? How is this even a real bill?

The Equality Act will also lead to the end of gender specific spaces for people of all ages, meaning there is really no point in gender specific restrooms, locker rooms, dorms, changing areas, and so on. As a woman I have an issue with this but as a mother I am sickened by this because this will put children in locker rooms and shower rooms with children of the opposite sex before they are mature enough to be exposed to the anatomy of the opposite sex. This will also make it that male and female teachers will be able supervise children in the locker room of the opposite sex. And let’s not forget gender specific sports teams will also be pointless when the sex of a person does not factor into their gender.

The Daily Signal spoke with Dr. Michelle Cretella a pediatrician who believes the Equality Act will compel doctors to prescribe dangerous hormones and preform gender reassignment surgery even if it goes against their personal beliefs or religious convictions. Basically under the Equality Act if a person goes to the doctor and states they want to start to medically transition the doctor will not be permitted to explain why that may not be a good idea and offer alternative treatments or recommend counseling to ensure they are making the right decision.

I have just scratched the surface of all the civil liberties that will be infringed on for the average American in order to make the intersectional dogma the law of the land. I recommend everyone share this information and do additional research if you are interested.
