A lot of stories have coming from Saudi Arabia in the past few days about arrest and power struggle withing the kingdom. It all started with Lebanon prime minister resignation when he was in Riyadh, then came some arrest on the kingdom princes including one of the richest men in the world, billionaire and Saudi prince Alwaleed bin Talal and the head of the national guard son of the former king prince Miteb bin Abdullah, they are been accused of curruption to a sum of $100 billion that is said to have been embezzled through corrupt dealings and was siphoned from the national fund and subverted to personal account

Observers see this as a ploy by crown prince Mohammed bin Salman to eliminate any person who might challenge his ascend to the throne when he father abdicates or dies and the throne is left empty, this has not come without a price cause these men are key to the running of the kingdom and the accusation been leveled against them is big. The crown prince is talking about eliminating corruption within the country and saving the country billions of dollar that seem to be missing. Many analyst are saying that this may rock investor confidence as key figure within the ruling family have been indicted
Last week the Houthis rebels from Yemen fired missiles towards Riyadh and Saudi Arabia is blaming Iran their long term enemy in the middle east for supplying the Houthis rebel with the missiles. Saudi and Iran are caught up in a civil war in Yemen as they are both backing the two groups that are fighting,

The crown prince has stated that he wants to transform Saudi Arabia into a modern nation that is not depended on oil and he has laid plan for the construction of a mega city by the red sea called NEOM that will cost $500 billion. He also want to transform Saudi Arabia from a conservative nation into a more liberal and modern nation like Dubai city

As a person who worked in Saudi Arabia I never never believe that this country could be transformed from a conservative to liberal... They are very very closed to new ideas. Strangely almost all young people study in USA or UK, and see how is the real world, When they come back to their country, they are turning back to beginning.... The ones who understand that there is a nonsense on this which is a small group, they don't turn back to their country.. I could stand there only 4 years and run away :)
the new prince seem like he wants to change that, maybe that is why he is trying to eradicate the people that have been holding progress back
Appreciate the coverage on this topic! American especially need to know what happening with in a royal family their government protects.
EDIT: But the Prime Minister of Palestine didn't resign. It was Lebanon.
