This short poem comprises a loose rhyme scheme and words chosen to suggest a drifting away, resulting in an hypnotic effect. What better words than these to whisper to self or a loved-one at the end of a long hard day's work.

Soft beneath
Body heavy
Mind in retreat

Prose poetry that delves into the nature of love, it's pleasure and pain and what makes love so important and worth all the trouble. The post first struck me as unfinished notes to self. On second reading, I hear a speaker delving into his experience and developing upon a metaphor for love, from other learning experiences.

love is like melodious sonnets, sung in duet by two hearts,
its life playing a guitar, the magic between the fingers and the strings

Free verse that is also prose-like. Written like a letter to an earlier self or a family member. The memories are rich with vivid descriptions of scents and wonderings of an imaginative mind from early childhood. I found the development of mystery and suspense, and a surprise ending to be very intriguing.

I got to a high point,
overlooking the neighborhood
having visions of the land before time
the age of the dinosaurs
