Let's have a bit of color for this post, these shots are from a visit to Walnut Beach last year when mother nature was in fine form.

I lined up this shot so the sun was risign just behind Charles Island and giving such nice colors in the sky, from this angle it looks like you can jump from the pier to Charles Island, of course thats not possible but it looks cool at this angle I think.

I then walked along the beach a little as the sun rose a little more the colors changed and were more subdued by this time, there were not to many people at the beach that morning, but as this shot shows there were lots of Seagulls flying around.

As the sun rose the colors were changing so quickly as it went behind soem clouds the colors ramped up again.
That's the cool thing with catching sunrises or sunsets for that matter, particularly over water, you never know what you are going to see, sometimes if you are lucky and catch clouds in the right place it can change from minute to minute and it's such a pleasure enjoying the light show of mother nature.

For my money, sunrise is the true golden hour. I always feel like I have more time to catch 'the shot'.

I much prefer sunrises as well, not to many at the beach and it is so calming, Sunrises are nice, but often the beach still has many people and its not as quiet and calm
Very nice! We get some nice sunsets in the backyard where I live, but usually the trees get in the way before it goes down. The colors are fantastic though. Sad thing is cell phone cameras never capture them to their full extent.
Cell Phone shave improved so much but I still Seldom use mine for photos since i always carry my camera with meI havent caught. Sunrise this year yet I am feeling the cold this year, but soon I will be catching them again
I hope to get some good ones myself this summer while we are camping. I might have to make it a point to take my Sony point and shoot with me more.
Omg, those sunsets are simply a breathtaking man. I can't even imagine how was it for you seeing them live. For me, usually, I just sit there in silence trying not to "disturb" the beauty in front of me. lol I absolutely love those bright orange colors. Amazing.

ThanksKindly, I do enjoy the splendour of a beautiful Sunrise,and also like you tend to be quite and soak in the earth of the skies and the calming sounds of the waves rolling in, thats why I particularly like sunrise so few people out and about at that time
Sometimes we just forget to look up and see the beauty around us. We get too distracted...
The waves sure add to the atmosphere... Such a calming sound. Like the ocean creating its own "music."
I have t admit the sound of waves rolling in is my favorite music and the most calming sound for me thats why I love being by the water, thats why I visited to Split Sibenik and other areas along the coast when I was based in Sarajevo
