Welcome Spring! Time to bloom! Happy OSTARA/Spring Equinnox/Super Moon + Highlights from the BLOOMING SERIES

in #photography5 years ago (edited)

The wheel of the year constantly turning, today, 20th of March is the pagan celebration of the Northern Hemisphere Spring Equinnox or Ostara. There also a super full Moon so don't forget to look up to the sky as you welcome the new season.

Winter has ended... Hello Spring!

I prefer small wild flowers over lush garden ones... there's something in their endurance that inspire me.

OSTARA is named after a Germanic Goddess of Spring and fertility The name means "to shine". In the Equinox the length of the Day and Night is the same, the forces of Light and Darkness in balance, and now on days will be longer and brighter until next Solstice.

The Waking of Spring

I already shared my song THE WAKING OF SPRING exactly one year ago, and that reminds me the whole year cycle here in this platform, feels longer!! :) So also as soundtrack to this special seasonal blog post here is my song again in case you want to listen to it as you continue reading!. So here we are again, longing to bloom, aren't we?

What is your favourite flower? The Blooming series project

So today's date was also a reminder for me that I love to take pictures with flowers and I started a collection of articles along with flowers and their meaning, significance and even properties, ta project I may resume now that the blooming season has returned. I already covered Daffodils, Wild garlic, Dandelions, Roses and some others... What are your favourite flowers? Are you a frail snowdrop or a lush rose?

You are a beautiful woman who makes really beautiful works, your photos and videos are dreamy.

Priscilla! So beautiful ! Always such a treat to see a post from you, because I feel that somehow nature channels its energies through your posts.... I was running hundreds of miles an hour at the office with tasks and deadlines pouring out of my ears but then I saw your post and it centered me wonderfully. I paused and took the time to look at your pictures and read your words and I feel much better about my day :)

I love daffodils and cherry blossoms, for spring, but where I am now, we are heading into fall and the flowers are not very blossoming but the trees are changing colours and it is very beautiful, too :)

Also, your little mouse ! I love them ! So cute, white like snow, with that little patch on the back * ___ * Please send my pets, the gentlest of rubs~ :)

each one of those were articles on Steemit :) I hope now that is bloooming season again to resume the series :) Yes that was Ritva my rat :) she actually appeared in the video I shared in this article a little cameo, I miss her lots :) sadly rats don't live that long :( barely 3,5 years but she'll be forever in my heart.

Aaah Ritva~ She has passed, I see.... ; __ ;

We will remember her well <3 She was loved, it is evident <3 <3 <3

Yes! Looking forward to you continuing your blooming series, Priscilla ! \o/

sigh yes, she passed away a long time ago, this is me "saying" farewell to her, when she was already old, she died a few months after that, she had already hind leg paralysis, though she managed a while with a rat wheel chair and therapy. She was a little warrior and she'll be forever in my heart. Here a very old Ritva

it's a Disney song but we kind of gave it another meaning, It was her third birthday. She boggled her eyes and that for a rat is saying I'm happy

I had three fufunchis, Ritva, Tuula and Taika, not a single day they're not present in my spirit, when I joined steemit they had already passed away but as you can see I continue to post lots of rats, and will have again in the future, but meanwhile I spread love for their species.

WOW!! Your pics are amazing and the places you go are perfect :)

I am more a forest kind of lady :) by the way today is international forest day :) should post something about that later, but every Spring the first bloom fills me with joy, those are highlihts of many of the blooming articles I wrote last year, I tried to make categories in my posts "blooming" "abandoned places" and "music and art" but kind of stopped and I want to find motivation to go on with the series again :)

Awesome! Good luck with everything :)

Oh! Just so beautiful! What a gorgeous way to celebrate the first day!

And today is International forest day! we´re on a roll!

Yay SPRING! I have been happier of late feeling the season change and watching the snow slip and hide away into the earth until it returns again next Winter.

Such lovely images @yidneth and amazing headpieces, you are such an artists muse in so many ways, your style and your song, you are like the breath of Spring :)

Happy Day!

awww thanks :) and we're on a roll cos it was International day of the forests today. yes I can do with some Spring warmth :)

My favorite time of the year... Spring time! I really had enjoyed listening to the music video, and love the little "hint" of Irish-Celtic sound in the song! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you I play Irish whistle and harp and that's why it may have that celtic flair to it. I love every season.... but now it's time to bloom you know :)

Great bloom pictures!!!!
