Hammamet - Tunesia
After 29 years I decided to go back to Tunesia.
Once I had the opportunity to stay there with my eldest as she was about 2 years old. In the end I decided not to because of my ex, who said he was willing to change.
Now, years later I am still shocked about what I saw.
Many houses, roads, once great buildings turned into ruins. Dirt everywhere and the smell of garbish was overwhelming.
Even the sea was so dirty we did not dare to stick one toe into it.
But... the sun was shining.
The people were friendly and helpfull and it was safe outside on the street. It was for sure the cheapest holiday I ever had (forgot my bankcard and I only had 50 euro with me for the 3 of us).
After all these years, I still regret I did not start a new live up there.
Especially if I see this picture.
