| Mit Blick auf den Wiener Wetterbericht für die nächsten Tage bin ich froh, dass ich am vergangenen Sonntag einen überfälligen Besuch am Kahlenberg gemacht habe. Ich wohne in Floridsdorf und reise täglich mit der S-Bahn über die Donau. Ich sehe den Kahlenberg in der Ferne und sage mir immer wieder: Ich muss bald hin. Also: "bald" war an diesem Sonntag, und es war wirklich ein herrlicher Tag! Temperatur war um 25 ° C und ein wundervoller sonniger Tag! | Looking at the Vienna weather forecast for the next few days I am glad I made a long overdue visit to the Kahlenberg this past Sunday. Living in Floridsdorf and travelling daily across the Danube by S-Bahn, I see the Kahlenberg in the distance and keep telling myself: got to go there soon. | Ich hatte einen kleinen Snack mit einem Glas Wein. Es gibt ein schickes Restaurant gegenüber, aber ich bevorzuge es einfach. Außerdem erschien es schneller und ich war hungrig! Während ich auf den Bus warte, sehe ich diesen Damen beim Picknick am Rasen zu. Ich war ihnen schon ein paar Mal begegnet. | I had a little snack with a glass of wine. There is a fancy restaurant across from there, but I prefer it simple. Besides, it appeared faster, and I was hungry! While waiting for the bus I watch these ladies having a picnic on the lawn. I had run into them a few times before. |

The view from that terrace in the first photo is so amazing. I would love to have a beer there and just take in that awesome scene.
There is a nice restaurant one one side, and on the other a self-serve for snacks and ice cream. Of course, a good beer. This day I felt like wine, so that's what I had.

Nice trip! I spent a few days in Vienna last summer, but one would need much more than a holiday to see all the beautiful places in and around this city.
right - most visitors that are here for only a few days hang out downtown - many don't even make it out to Schönbrunn. Even just visiting Museums (perfect on a rainy day) can take several days to just see some of the more important ones. So you have to come back!

We will, definitely. We were with the kids and we made the program mostly for them so there are lots of places we didn't manage to visit. I saw the article about Vienna, but to me big cities are only good to be visited. I love living in small towns. :)
You are like my sister - she disliked living in the city, now she lives in a big house in the mountains.
I lived in a small town in Canada for 40 years, but my roots are here in Vienna, and that is where I returned to.
