Some art around NYC
This post will cover two challenges Beautiful Sunday By @ace108, and Sublime Sunday, created by @c0ff33a,
Beautiful because I love when a city welcomes color and art all around to brighten up the city and make it less of a concrete Jungle and sublime well because art is a matter of opinion what one person loves another may not and secondly because I had fun with the edits on a couple of these shots
Starting with this colorful piece I came across one day, perhaps simply in design but I found it quite eye-catching and pleasing

Now this second shot is a bit of art in Strawberry Fields within Central Park

In April 1981, after John Lennon was murdered, a patch of land in Central Park near the Dakota was named "Strawberry Fields" in Lennon's honor. Later that year it was announced that the Strawberry fields area would be completly renovated.
Yoko Ono requested that the rebuilt memorial be a "living memorial" rather than a statue, and Strawberry Fields was dedicated on what would have been Lennon's 45th birthday, October 9, 1985
This is one of the few times I have visited the park and the Imagine Mosaic was not covered with flowers
Now the previous shot had a touch of artistic editing, but this next piece I perhaps got a little carried away with the artistic editing

Now not all the art in NYC is fixed, some of the delivery trucks can be quite colorful such as this one

And another shot where I felt a bit of selective coloring was needed to bring the focus on the art and not the surroundings, this piece is in Times Square

I can see why you like the first one. Such great bold color.
That is something that a whole area of the park would be dedicated to John, although I have heard of it before. By living memorial, what part of it is living..... like in the plants and trees and flowers and things?
The third one is very colorful too, but I can't tell what it says ! LOL
Because in the 4th one the truck is the only thing with color, my mind makes up the story that they parked there a little too long and became a rolling art piece. I know that is not how it is, but still.....
On the last one, that is just a covering and not really painted on the building.... right?

and about Strawberry fields, I heard Yoko Ono felt the park had enough Statues so we wanted more greenery so yes apart from the Imagine Mosiac on the walkway its all about plants and trees
The thirs one says Hells Kitchen which is the area it was in:)
I like the take your mind took on the Truck :)
and yes well spotted, they do that in some areas here paint of print the art onto a big piece of some sort of material and then tie it up in place

a couple of months ago i visited new york. I saw many colorful pieces of art in random places and walls in the city. We have graffiti in my country as well but the majority of them are stupid letters saying stupid stuff. Anyway i took some photos so in an upcoming post about my trip to new york i will upload some of the photos. Depending of how many i have (cause i took around 3000 photos :P) i may create a post only with photos of graffiti
NYC sure has a lot of color, and indeed some tagging as well, I do occasionally take shots of thet but I do prefer the murals or real art as I call them
I look forward to seeing your shots of the city feel free to tag me in them so I do not miss them

Love the manhole cover. At least I assume that one is? The second photo from Central Park.
It doe skind of look like a manhole cover but its actually a Mosaic in memory of Joh Lennon
