Dear Fellow Steemians:

How was your Halloween party yesterday? Did you have a good time? This is the second part of my ghost transformation dairy, if you missed my first part, please check it out Here.

The last day of October marks the end of Autumn and the beginning of Winter. The 31st of October has a special name called The day of death. Legend says that on this day, ghosts present themselves to the human world, and souls of people who died will leave their body and come join the ghosts as well. People considered this day to be dangerous, particularly when going out. That's why people dress up in horrible costumes, it is their way of scaring away the real ghosts.

Have you noticed there is stylistic difference between Western and Asian Halloween? Western people like to dress up in scary, horrible looking costumes that are meant to scare away friends as well as ghosts. It's all in the vein of having some harmless fun.

In Asia, the object of Halloween seems to be more obscure. Many people enjoy role playing instead of dressing up to scare people. Costumes are just uniforms from real life such as nurses, teachers and cops. For me and my friends who studied in England, we like to go to Asian Halloween parties with friends. To our dismay, the place seems like a hospital or school because nearly all the people are dressed up as doctors, nurses or teachers.

Let's take a look at my Halloween costume!

Cursed nurse with various art effects. I used heavy make up to emphasise being in a psychedelic world!

A sinister witch sporting dark purple. This is quite special especially amongst all the doctors, teachers and cops.

你们的万圣节爬梯过的愉快吗？这是我的第二部分关于万圣节的变身日记，当然如果你错过了我的第一部分，你可以在 这里找到。在10月的最后一天，也是夏天的终结，冬天的开始，而这一天也有一个标志，那就是被叫做“死人之日”的一天。传说在这一天会有各种恶鬼出现在人间，死去的人们的灵魂也会离开身体，来到人类的世界游走，所以这一晚人们出门会变的危险。所以大家开始装扮成更恐怖的模样，吓走鬼魂。

不知道你们有没有发现，其实中西方的万圣节风格有着差异。欧美的万圣节装扮都比较严肃认真，非常追求恐怖的效果，这样既吓走了真的鬼魂，又可以用来惊吓身边的人，增加万圣节狂欢的气氛。
而一个亚洲人的万圣节，似乎忽略打扮得原本目的, 更像是化妆舞会。他们沉迷于角色扮演，打扮成生活中各行各业的穿着制服的人，护士，教师和警察等等。就像在国外留学的我们，每年的万圣节都会去亚洲人主办的爬梯，到了那里就好像来到了一家医院或者一家学校，有着一堆的护士，医生和教师。下面就来看看我的万圣节装扮吧！
