As I reached out, the door creaked open of its own accord. A profound coldness rushed out, carrying with it a faint, sweet smell of decay. Inside, the space was not small and quaint but impossibly vast, a swirling vortex of shadows and forgotten memories. I was no longer on the path, no longer in the park. I was falling, a silent scream trapped in my throat, into the dark heart of the little house.
