There's something special about these seaside rocks!

Something lives here! Welcome to the Dragons den!

Normally whenever we get to the beach, we head straight for the rocks and in this case there was a beautiful walkway on a huge mound of rocks. Big boulders that's been here for a very long time. And of course something ancient also made these rocks their home.
Let me show you!

Now this is a test for all those with eagle eyes. Tell me if you can see a creature anywhere here?

Not? Let's have a closer look at the left side of the rock? Do you see it?

Nature's camouflage is so excellent. When we spotted this rock lizard, I signaled Marian and we immediately sat down very slowly!

Where there's one there must be others and soon another one appeared!

And soon some more started to appear!

This guy felt so comfortable that he decided to catch a sun tan!

The funny thing is that you cannot tell the one from the other. They all look exactly the same and their colors change continuously to the same color as the rocks that they move about on. I wonder if a chameleon in the early days of earth saw these guys and decided to also implement color changes lol.
One only has to sit patiently in nature and wait for life to emerge!

We hope you have enjoyed the pictures and thank you for visiting a post by @papilloncharity

Cool pics as always!
Took me a few moments to spot the little dude in the first one!

Oh yeah Caruso, sing another tune for me my boy! How many beers did you have when you spotted the one in the first picture hahahaha.

none... (un)fortunately... or it wouldn't have taken me so long, and I may have spotted him sooner :P

I love your humour! Hahahaha

@qurator A great thank you for the kind support. Blessings!

Beautiful pictures! Thanks for sharing them!

I wasn't able to watch the lizard until the very end hahaha

Thank you and nature has a way to conceal her treasures! I cannot blame you as it was a slight movement that caught my eye and that led me to pay a closer inspection of the rock faces!

Amazing camouflage! It was fun trying to spot those lizards! Thank you for posting these amazing photos, @papilloncharity!

Thank you and glad that you enjoyed the post my friend! Blessings!

Wow Beautiful photographs of seaside rocks..
Nice post on seaside rocks...
Thanks for sharing with us..

Thank you my friend! Blessings!

Love the Afrikaans name for these guys Koggelmander normally think in a different language when I see them, thank goodness Google knows our terms!

Southern Rock Agama / Suidelike Rotskoggelmander - Agamas are closely related to chameleons.

Nature on the rocks, what a lovely outing Stephen.

Thank you Lady Joan and also for the kind information. I learn something new everyday! Blessings!

Bet you will remember the Afrikaans name from hereon in LOL...

@joanstewart Oh yes indeed Lady Joan and I never for a moment thought that the Koggelmanders (auto correct hates the spelling) would be so popular as to be selected for the Photo Friday competition in @qurator This world is full of surprises!

This post reminds me of holidays in North Wales. The rocks on the coastline are so tempting. The rock lizards are so cute. Brilliant photos... I bet they can move fast!

Thank you and we also love the rocks Lady Dee. They are indeed fast little guys that can disappear in the blink of an eye and that's why one has to be very still around them. Blessings!
