OLD SLATE MINE
Here are a few more pictures I took on a visit to the Snowdonia National Park .
In a previous post ( castle or prison) we then walked only a short distance and came across this old slate mine
The water you can see I was told is over 300 meters deep and is now used by divers to practice
In this next picture is some kind of device they must off used to remove the slate all them years ago
And very possibly taken to these train tracks which would make sense
And now a couple more pictures of old buildings which I thought looked good in b/w

Absolutely wonderful photographs of the slate quarry. How tough,dangerous and hard it was for these miners to quarry for slate.
Amazing how nature comes back, after man ravages the environment.

woah 300 meters deep? That is crazy! Do you know if it is that deep because it was dug out and then water filled it, or if the water is just naturally that deep there? I really like the last picture, nicely framed with the fall foliage and the backlighting makes the rocks seem very dramatic

It has enough depth, I think it would be very difficult to walk with children and animals, it is a lot of prevention and nerves do something in that place hahaha but I really want to congratulate you on your photos, they are very beautiful
