Unknown Tuscany - Medieval Ripafratta's Fortress - Original Colorful Photos- Italy 2017- Part 1

Happy New Year Steemians!
I'd like to introduce my new project : "Unknown Tuscany". This project I'll bring for you unknown places of Tuscany Region, with photos, informations and short stories. In other posts I have already shown you some unknown places like: Caprona's Tower, House of Dolls and Medieval Tower. The project is to divulge , to rescue the other amazing places that exist in Tuscany, and also to help the volunteers and associations that take care of these places.
Another news is that I bought an intervalometer a week ago, and the result of this my new experience will be seen in the next post.
I'll start in Pisa, because it is my hometown and there are many places that I don't know yet (I wait that you not too! ).
The Ripafratta's Fortress (Rocca di Ripafratta) which was built in 1162-1164 over 68 meters at the top of Pisa's hills called "Vergario". The building is a polygon of irregular formwork with three observation towers: one is insulated in the middle, and the other two around the wall.
The first war between Ripafratta and Lucca was around 1002-1004, because Lucca had to pay taxes to the nobles of Ripafratta when transporting merchandises, and when they passed the territory of Pisa in the Serchio river. Many other conflicts occurred between Pisa and Lucca, until the definitive conquest of the territory of Pisa by Florence in 1406.
